Chapter 48

The ringing of the door jolted Patricia from her reverie, thirty minute after Daniel's departure. Different thought clouded her mind as she gazed from the wall clock to the door. Her face contorted in disapproval. Her blanch eyes calculated the distance between the door and the couch she was seated.

The laziness that descended upon her had everything to do with her illness and nothing to do with simple etiquette.

Sighing, Patricia pushed her tired body forward, slowly making her way to unbolt the door. A figure stood by the door, dressed in a black pant and a yellow shirt with a black cover-shoe. A lab coat laid fittingly on his shirt. A stethoscope hung proudly around his neck. His cologne filled her nostrils.

Patricia unconsciously shut her eyes as she inhaled deeply his cologne.

Smiling at her action, "Hello, I am Doctor Richard, your husband's Doctor. I got a call to run some test on you."

Patricia snapped her eyes opened at his words. She knew he was a doctor but had
