Chapter 51

Clock tickling away in the far side of the room. Patricia stirred, still soundly asleep. Her hands searched for him. Her eyes shut opened, alarmed. She sat upright, pulling the duvet up, Patricia glanced at the wall clock. It was still two am.

Where could he be? She speculated, stepping a feet out of the bed to check on him. As though on cue, he sighed alerting Patricia of his presence. Trailing the direction of the voice, Patricia followed till it led her directly to the couch.

A figure sprawled on the couch with a pillow beneath him. Patricia stared at him. Her hands moved gently over his cheeks, caressing him softly.

His eyes shut opened at her touch. The coldness that met her gaze paralysed her heart.

"Hi.." Patricia muttered cooly. "I didn't see you on the bed so I was wondering where you were but then I caught you. What happened? Why are you here and not on the bed?"
