When I was helped to the bathroom, I finally saw my miserable state in the mirror.

My whole head was wrapped in bandages, especially my face and throat with large areas of bruising. My left hand was in a cast, and my entire face was swollen and haggard.

"Your photo on the ID card is so beautiful. After you recover well, you'll definitely be beautiful again," Mrs. Smith said, thinking I was worried about being disfigured.

But having experienced near-death, I only felt grateful for surviving.

I never thought I would see them again, only to be caught off guard.

Scarlett seemed uncomfortable as she sat leaning against Henry and acting coquettish.

He was comforting her with a smile, evoking a tender expression from her.

"Wow, look at that couple. They're so loving!"

I heard a young girl next to me say with envy. But inside, my heart was as silent as still water.

Mrs. Smith didn't notice my change and pushed the wheelchair into an inconspicuous corner before hurrying off to register.
