Chapter 3

Jean breathed a sigh of relief when she reached the opposite of her office building at the Boardwalk Restaurant. She looked behind her and around. When she was sure that the man would not follow her, she entered the big building she shook her head and she took a deep breath. She speed up walking so she could get to her office right away. while she was going up to her office, she couldn't help but think why he was following her, he seems to be a smart person but why was he following me. Her office was still on the third floor and she was already crowded with the elevator that was about to shut down.

When the elevator opened on the third floor, she went straight into her office. She was greeted by the employees who met her but she only nodded because in her haste she had a scheduled meeting at two o'clock today with managers in different departments and she still had to finish something before the meeting started.

As soon as Jean entered her office, Jaylyn immediately went to her. She knew it had followed him before she got in there. she sat in the empty chair in front of her desk.

"Why did you just come? Did something happen that made you late? Jaylyn immediately asked.

"T-traffic." she lied.

"Traffic, why are you looking like that? Why did you just walk towards it? It's not, you look more like you ran and you look like you've seen a ghost." she said to her with a frown.

Jean wiped the sweat from her forehead.

"Don't ask anymore. Has the report needed later in our meeting been arranged?" she changed the subject.

"Yes, it's done i already arranged that."

"Okay, good. Go ahead, get ready for the meeting."

She said quickly to end their conversation and she was sure that her friend would not ask her what happened to her again and she had no intention of telling the story of what happened earlier.

"Okay okay, I'm going." Jaylyn said with a frown but before she totally leave she faced me again and said.

"But, Jean, Can you fix yourself? Don't go outside looking like that, They might think you're crazy." it said worriedly.

She frowned at what she said.

"Why? what is the problem about my look?"

It came to her side. Surprised, she opened her drawer and took out the mirror.

"Here, see what i mean." she said and handed her the glass.

Jean looked at herself in the mirror. Apart from the fact that his hair was slightly messed up and he was sweating, she still looked fine.

"So what?" She asked here and then put the glasses back in his drawer.

"What, and so what? how old are you Jean? You're only twenty six, right, but you look like a grandmother in your clothes, and your glasses are too thick or formal to look at, don't take what I'm saying wrong, I'm only seeing the wrong and I'm telling to you because I'm your friend, change your clothes." it said.

Jean didn't know if she would be happy or angry with her friend for what she was telling her, this woman was insulting her. But she didn't pay attention.

"You know this is the usual way of dressing, right? So what's your problem with my clothes? It's formal attire like a business woman." she immediately defended her friend.

"It's your body, that's just mine for a CEO of a company, it's not appropriate what you're wearing in the office. Hmmm, okay it's up to you Jean!" She sneered at her before walking out of her office.

Jean just sighed at Jaylyn's criticism of her clothes and look knew that her style was like that but it was strange that she criticized her for that matter. Because she is comfortable there in that arrangement.

She always wears long clothes and slacks or a loose t-shirt with jeans and if she has an important meeting, he wears corporate attire. But it's not just that if others say they are chika babes. And she doesn't even like makeup so she doesn't put it on her face either. Baby powder and lipgloss are enough for her. Her hair is naturally straight so it is always tied up. The glasses in her eyes were already thick because her eyes had always been blurry. She thinks that there is nothing wrong with how she looks, only Jaylyn complains about her clothes and how she looks and even her look herself. And this is the only one who has the courage to criticize what she does. But since he's been her friend for a long time, she's used to his behavior. She prepared the papers she was going to study and then she also took out another caibatta bread that was left over earlier. That was her meal this afternoon, she has no plans to go out to eat now, she will just wait for her meeting time while studying her paper work.

"Okay, that would be all for today. Thank you so much."

Jean's meeting had just ended and she was putting the things away.

Her managers were informing her one by one until she and Jaylyn were the only ones left in the meeting room.

"Today is so tiring! I want to rest now." she said and then she stretched out her arms.

She looked at her watch.

it's eight o'clock in the evening. You can see tiredness on her friend's face and she also feels a headache.

"You can go first, Jay. I'll just take Grab later." she said here.

Jaylyn stopped in the process of fixing herself.

"What? I can't. I'll wait for you."

Jean stood up from the chair and approached her.

"I'm gonna be fine. You can go first," she said and made her stand on the chair then led her out of the meeting room.

"But, Jean.."

"I am really fine, I'm used to being alone, right? Come on go ahead and then I'll just finish these things that still need to be signed. I'll be next when I finish." She smiled a little more.

"Are you sure?" jaylyn asked.

"yes, of course don't worry, go can home first."

Jean knows why Jaylyn still doesn't want to agree to leave her. Even though they are best friends, she is still shy about using his car. So she really waits for her so that she can take her to her house, then she goes straight home.

There is no problem with Jaylyn parking her car at their house as if it is also her driver because she no longer drives after the accident that happened that she wants to forget.
