Chapter 6

"You have a lot to explain to me, now explain, Jean." Jean looked at Jaylyn for a moment before staring at the road again. She was not in the mood to answer her questions, especially since they were on their way to the office. Because when she answers her questions, she has another question for her.

"I will still tease you again and again, so it's better if you just answer." Jaylyn said.

"What do you want to know, anyway?"

"A lot." She quickly told her.

"First of all where did you meet that guy? Maybe you sent me home right away and that guy was with you? SHe smiled teasingly at her.

"Don't look at me like that Jaylyn, whatever you think is wrong. Jean immediately defended.

"Hey bestie, I haven't said anything yet, have I?" so I'm just wondering what happened where did you meet that man? are you keeping a secret from me like this?"

Her eyes rolled as she answered her friend's question.

"What? What am I going to hide like Sister Minda said that Emman will be her helper in the housework and he will also be our driver. Don't you want him to not get tired driving?"

Jaylyn was surprised to look at her at that moment.

"W-what will that handsome man be our driver? and he will just be your maid boy? she said laughing, obviously not believing her.

"Ohhh really? wouldn't it be better if you just say that the boy is your boyfriend and you just kept it a secret from me?"

Jean was annoyed by what her friend said. it's really shocking.

"W-what? I just met him yesterday when I was walking on the Baywalk and then you tell me that!" She was really forced to tell a story here when what happened to her while on the baywalk for a day and how Emman she allowed to stay at her house.

Her friend couldn't believe what she said. she just shrugged.

"What came to your mind and made you think of letting him live in your house? I never knew you to be a careless person!" She said with wide eyes.

"What if he is a bad person? even if he doesn't look bad."

Jean just shook her head at what Jaylyn said then looked back at the road, even her friend was surprised when they almost collided with another car but luckily Jaylyn turned the steering wheel.

They breathed a sigh of relief that nothing bad happened to them, but her heart beat faster because of what happened.

"Be careful!" she shouted to her friend.

"Sorry bestie." She apologized and stopped the car on the side of the road.

Jean took a few deep breaths before she calmed down.

"I'm sorry too, I yelled at you.

When she looked at her friend, she was also pale, maybe she was too scared.

"It's my fault, eh. I promise to be more careful next time."

"Jaylyn, it's okay don't worry. Let's go." she said here.

Then she started the car again. After a while they were in front of the building where their office was located. After the car was parked, she immediately got off and said goodbye to Jaylyn who was going upstairs first. She didn't wait for her friend to answer. As soon as she entered her office, she sat down immediately because she felt a pain in her leg. After that, she couldn't stop the tears from falling in her eyes.

Jean was holding back her sobs because she didn't want to get the attention of her employees outside her office. She just cried silently. She remembered it had been a long time since she last cried like that. And she felt even more sorry for herself.

Until now, she is still scared and she has not been able to forget her nightmare, as if she wants to hit her head on the table just to get rid of the nightmare that always haunts her sleep that no matter what she does, time will not heal.

FLASH BACK

Jean was on her way home that day and she hurried to walk because she and her friend had a conversation. But because I ordered her aunt, she needs you to finish what she asked her to do, so she couldn't leave the house right away. She can't disobey what they ask her to do because she only lives with them while studying in college.

Jean is from Ilocos but has been living with her aunt Kristy since high school. They have a hard time in life so her parents can't afford to educate her and her aunt is well-off so she pretends to educate her.

She could not say anything to her aunt and that her family was good to her. In fact, Jean is graduating from high school this year. And her aunt also said that she will continue to study in college

And as a debt of gratitude to them, she volunteered to help with household chores and there she taught the younger cousins on assignments.

They will meet her friend at the coffee shop on the side of the Baywalk. She runs on her way there and she doesn't even look around.

"Miss!" Jean heard someone shout. But when she turned around it's too late to avoid a bike that was going to crash into her But she was surprised when she didn't feel anything crash into her and she only heard the sounds of falling when she looked back at the man riding the bike he was already lying on the side of the road. She was very worried about the man while looking at it because he didn't move at that time. She slowly approached the man and gently patted his shoulder. She couldn't see the man's face because he was on his knees.

"Brother, brother. Are you okay?" asked Jean.

When the man grunted slightly she breathed a sigh of relief. That means it was still conscious then. So she patted his back again.

"Brother, can you stand up now? Or am I going to call an ambulance?"

The man growled again then he spoke.

"I'm fine." It promised.

At that time Jean helped the man to his feet because that seemed to be what he wanted to do.

And when she looked at the man's face, she was surprised because she didn't think she looked like that, he was so handsome. But she thought that he was just a little older than her and she suddenly felt ashamed of the man.

"Big brother, are you sure you're okay?"

She asked the man again because even though he was sitting, he was bowing.

He suddenly laughed and then said.

"Awww, I'm old in your eyes if you can call me big brother, I guess I can't accept you calling me big brother."

And because of what the man said, Jean stood up straight because he was staring at her, she couldn't stand them.

"You're doing well, I'll go ahead of you." her irritation returned again because she was too late for her conversation with her friend.

She was about to run when the man stopped her.

"Wait."

She looked at him.

"Why?"

"I don't think I can stand up, it seems that one of my legs is sprained."

Jean looked around there were people passing by she hesitated to help him because she didn't know the man and she didn't know if he was telling the truth or not. His face read her hesitation to help him so he smiled at her.

"Please help me, I'm not a bad person, I won't hurt you."

Some kind of force feeling Jean. It seems like it's part of Jean's personality that she wants to be with the man. so she approached the man and helped him stand up.

"By the way, I'm Key Vrixsen."

The man introduced himself to her while she was resting on it.

Jean looked up to stop the continued flow of her tears and wiped her wet cheeks. She just thought that there are memories that take a long time to forget even though many years have passed.
