I was back home!

Brooklyn's POV:

"No, it's not the time, Editha." I had to stop her before things got worse!

"Moore's ceremony is about to start. And if I go back and beat  Hale, I'm sure that I won't go back to the Cacer pack in time."

After that, the change stopped. But the sharp claws didn't transform.

It meant that Editha agreed with my words. But she was still hesitant.

In the past years, my wolf Editha watched me being bullied by Hale. And she was so angry that she wanted to transform and tear Hale apart. It happened many times. But I stopped her from doing so.

Because I always felt that if I found ways to solve our problems patiently, Hale and I would have those sweet old days again.

But now...I didn't what to do.

He was my mate and the husband given by the Moon Goddess. And it was impossible for me to leave him.

"I'm sorry, Editha. I'm the one who let you down."

Editha was always fearless. She had all the good qualities of a werewolf. Being awaHaleed by a loser like me was a torment for her.

"Don't say that." Editha's claws slowly retracted and let out a heavy sigh, "The Moon Goddess isn't always right. I just want to help you escape from that miserable life."

"The Moon Goddess would make a wrong decision? How's that possible? Maybe Hale and I have some misunderstandings of each other. Don't worry, I'll figure out the ways to deal with it."

I had to buck up. Otherwise, my family members would be worried when I got back to the Cacer pack.

"Well, don't think about it. We should be happy! We will see our families soon."

"You're right." Editha was happy as well, "Just drive faster. I miss that little bastard as well."

"Hahahaha, he was annoyed with your pranks at that time!"

"That's because I like him. Otherwise, I wouldn't play with him!"

After that, we started the car and drove slowly on the road. During this time, Hale called several times to mock me. But I didn't give a shit and just drove calmly.

After 24 hours, I finally arrived at the Cacer pack. And when I got out of the car and breath in the fresh air, the exhaustion was swept away. And even Editha was affected by my good mood. She gave a comfortable cry in my head.

I smiled happily. And when I was about to go to find my father, Aaron, and Abbey, I suddenly smelled a scent. It was like the fresh smell of spring rain on the grass in the afternoon. It was light but particularly pleasant. I wanted to smell it longer.

At that moment, a cute figure suddenly appeared. She darted towards me like a flower fairy in a snow-white dress. And she happily hugged me.

"Brooklyn, I just heard the sound and I thought it was you! And Mommy didn't believe me!"

"Cathy is so smart."

Cathy was Abbey's daughter. She was very close to me. When I was leaving with Hale, she hugged me and cried all night. She was such a cute girl.

I hugged her with delight and sniffed at her, "Is that your scent? What a special smell!"

"Is it?" She sniffed her sleeve and turned to pull me again, "I just got a new perfume. And I didn't think it smelled good. But since you think it smells good, then...it does! By the way, I told mom that you have to sleep with me tonight..."

Aaron and Abbey snuggled up to each other and stood  Not in the yard looking at us with a smile. While Moore was squatting on the ground pulling weeds. He got up after hearing our voices. And he waved excitedly at us.

"Brooklyn!"

Their faces were filled with tenderness and love. And they had the best wishes for each other. This was the real family. This was the family worthy to protect.

But everyone was discussing a sad issue: it happened on Alpha Devin of the Aries pack. His mate had disappeared after giving birth to a kid. And Devin had spent almost the entire pack's resources to find his mate.

Somehow, I was incredibly envious of such a beautiful love.

Devin's POV:

My mate Lucy had disappeared.

She howled in pain all night yesterday and finally gave birth to our daughter Amy. She was too exhausted and slept.

The newborn was noisy and I was afraid of disturbing Lucy. So I took the baby out and let her have a good rest.

The baby was very cute. And the maids said that her nose was like mine. But I couldn't tell it. After all, her whole face was so wrinkled.

But this was my first child and the fruit of our love.

As the Alpha of the Aries pack, I was wise and brave guarding the werewolf pack; As my Luna, Lucy was kind and considerate. She would never be childish. We had never quarreled. And she had never expressed her dissatisfaction with me. We could talk calmly about everything. Everyone in the pack felt envious of our relationship.

And our child would inherit all our merits, as kind, brave, and fearless as a female warrior. And in the future, she would be pampered in my arms, call me daddy, wipe away my sweat, and become a good girl.

When I was imagining the future life, one of the maids suddenly looked up, pointed at my shoulder blade, and shouted in surprise, "Oh my God, Alpha, your mate mark..."

It was a crescent-shaped mark. And when Lucy and I got married, the mark naturally appeared on both of our shoulder blades. It showed that we were mates.

But now it actually disappeared?

I realized that something was wrong and rushed to the room. A woman who had just given birth should have been lying on the bed DISAPPEARED!

Lucy disappeared!

How could she have disappeared? She had just given birth. She was so pale. How was that possible?

At home, in the pack, in the woods, I searched for her like a madman. I kept shouting her name toward the sky. But I couldn't any clue of her whereabouts.

She disappeared like she had dug a crack in the ground! I couldn't find her!

This scenario made me anxious and restless. Amy also seemed to be aware of this situation. She was crying loudly.  But I didn't have the time to coax her.

The mate mark disappeared...it meant that the mate bond between Lucy and I had been broHale. So I didn't know how to find her.

From then on, only I and Amy accompanied each other. I didn't even know how to feed and change her diapers, how to raise a child, or how to teach her to be a good girl.

I was sad and buried my head in my palm. The tears flew through my fingers.

I wished Lucy could see how sad I was now. Or she could hear our daughter's crying in pain. Maybe she would go back, take me into her arms like she used to, and say gently, "Honey, I just went out for a short while. And now I'm back."

But I knew that she might never come back.

Mate mark disappeared...it meant Lucy was dead, or...she didn't want the mate bond anymore!

Just then, I smelled a scent. It was like the fresh smell of the spring rain of the afternoon on the dried grass.  It was faint but fresh.

I could even feel that this scent came from the North. That was the territory of the primitive werewolf pack division.

My wolf inside my body received the induction from the Moon Goddess - that was my mate.

Could it be ......Lucy?

Did she go to the North?

No, I had to go and check myself!

I swore by the name of the god of war that I would figure out the truth, no matter what happened.
