Leaving the past behind

Allie laughed uncontrollably. She can tell that her mother had a drink with the stranger who came to destroy her peaceful life. But surely, her mother is not drunk enough to come up with preposterous ideas that they are wolves.

She’s a child of science. Top one in her class and hearing her mother talk of nonsense was stupid. “Mom, did you have a drink?”

Barbara blushed, “Yes…”

“No wonder you are talking like this.” Allie rose and started to rummage on the small cupboard in search of a pot, “I am making you tea. This does not mean that I am no longer mad at you.”

Barbara smiled. Allie had always been compassionate.Her anger is short-lived and now that she’s calmer, she’s beginning to see things clearly. On her mother’s point of view. In order for her to understand what she’s not comprehending at the moment, she had to try and just do that.

After all, what is there to lose?
