My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I understood that this thing was on some weird quest because of my late mother, but why was her blood so damn important?

While I was busy trying to figure it out, the creature snapped his fingers and suddenly, my eyes opened with ease. The weight was gone and nothing held me down, except for the restraints on my legs.

“See, it wasn't so hard, was it?” It mocked me.

My eyes scanned the dark room until they set on the black blob of nothingness in the furthest corner. I might be freaking dreaming because I could have sworn the thing was grinning at me.

It had no mouth, no eyes, no limbs - nothing. And yet, I could feel his eyes on me and see the non-existent grin across the lips.

“Do not worry, my lovely. I shall help you see me in a better light soon. You see, I have brought a friend with me. Trust me, you’ll love him. I chose him to fit your liking. I told you that I’ve been watching, haven’t I?”

With that being said, the thing disappear
