Destined Alpha of Change
Destined Alpha of Change

Preface

KALEN

Everyone left behind a legacy – their mark on the world. Sometimes it created a positive and lasting change for all. Other times all it left behind was chaos and carnage.

Fairytale books had distinct heroes and distinct villains. It was an either/or situation. Good or bad. Black or white. Was it that simple to categorize everyone? What if they did not fit into any one box because nobody was purely good or purely evil?

I thought it was simple once upon a time until fate threw me a curveball that I was unable to dodge.

My future had always been clear to me growing up. I would become the first female Alpha of the Dark Moon pack. It was something that I threw my entire focus into as I got older. Dad was an amazing Alpha, and I would be proud to be even half of what he was. My pack meant everything to me, and it was an honor that I would be able to pick up the mantle when he was ready to pass it to me.

Part of me had assumed that my biggest hurdles in life would come from proving that I was every bit as capable of being of the Alpha of my pack despite not having a dick. How very wrong I was.

Of course, fate decided that I needed to be reminded of the legacy that came from Mom’s bloodline as well. The Quolia bloodline produced she-wolves known as Vessels. We were blessed with great power from the Goddess herself to protect those who needed it. With great power came great responsibility, and all of that shit. Life would have been much simpler had I not been chosen, but who was I to question the Goddess?

Seeing visions of the future was not all that it was cracked up to be. It was when you saw the potential destruction of everything you held dear that you had to make a choice. Did you wait on the sidelines, hoping that the future would change before it came to fruition, or did you choose to put yourself in the path that could very well lead to your death just to ensure that you did everything possible to save your family, pack, loved ones, and the innocents?

I had thought that fate was a cruel bitch when it decided to put him in into my path. Out of everyone, out of every species, fate chose someone that I would have never guessed. There was more to him than anyone knew. He was a mystery that was shrouded in darkness that was so overbearing that it tried to snuff out his light entirely.

There had been different paths that my life could have taken, but I had never anticipated that I would find my body, mind, and soul being tortured. However, sometimes we had to break completely so that we could be rebuilt into something new, something stronger, and something better.

There were only two choices to choose from after you were broken. Did you stay down, accepting defeat, or did you rise up from the ashes?

This path led to me not being the only one hurting. Would I walk away when he was breaking just like everyone else had, or would we just be rebuilt together?

If only it was that simple…

-----

This is a continuation of the original Dark Moon series, so I do suggest reading those as well for the full context. This book is the first of the next generation books.

The previous books are:

- His Hunt For Redemption (Book 1)

- Design of Fate (Book 2)
