Chapter 51 – Chasm Under the Blood Moon

I walk with Leneve, as slowly as we can, back downstairs and through to the back of the castle where a set of double doors leads to the gardens.

My breath hitches, and my hands begin to shake when I see the gathering of all the major players including Travis who stands in the middle of the group with Mathias.

I run one hand down my pants, wiping off the clamminess that gathers on my palm. I try to release Leneve's hand to wipe that one but her little fingers are wound tight around mine.

I look down at the small Lycan witch who offers me a reassuring smile. She doesn’t need words, I can see in her eyes what she says. Telling me to do what feels right and that she is by my side no matter what. She stands with me, not behind or in front but by my side no matter what happens.

It’s a comfort and reassurance that I didn’t know I needed. One that helped when I saw the watchful eyes of those who expected me to perform an act I was not keen on performing.

“So how's this going to go
