Chapter 118: it's all on you

Joshua raised his face from his hands and Marion could see how his eyes was red and swollen, and his cheeks wet from the tears he has shed.

“I want her.” Joshua whispered, his voice cracking a little bit.

Marion sat down on the bed staring into his eyes as he said this. “You had her, you lost her. You no longer have this privilege to say that.”

Joshua’s face contort in pain as tears stream down his cheeks.

Marion clasped a hand on Joshua’s shoulder silently as the other’s body continued with the shaking and silent sobs.

It took a while.... a whole lot of minutes even for Joshua to stop but then he did.

“So you are going to drop it, right?.” Marion asked him to be sure. “No more plans or schemes to destroy your father’s relationship.”

Joshua chuckles sadly resting back on the pillow behind him. “My heart aches at the thought of saying yes to that.”
