Chapter 8: Beastman Race

“What was that?” Kylie was curled up in her bed with her large blanket wrapped around her like she was a burrito. She stared right ahead, her image in the mirror reflecting a downtrodden figure. Her unfocused eyes suggested that there was nothing she was actually looking at; for her present yet "un-present" mind kept drifting off to the strange events she had seen in her dream. The half-moon sticking out her window suggested that it was still night time. The light of the stars were quite illuminating this evening, and part of Kylie’s room fell under their graceful banner. And that part included the section with the clock which indicated that it was barely half past 2 am.
