The Book

It was funny really. It was funny how we craved for the end of a tiresome adventure but relished the beginning when that end did come. It was funny and sad at the same time; but it was a part of life that we could never truly get used to.

“Sigh, to think it has only been two weeks,” Kylie mumbled as she packed the last of her clothes.

She looked at the room she had spent two weeks in. Even though she had been here for such a short period, the small room contained her smell and a few memories – memories that she didn’t dream of making when she was sent on this mission.

“I feel a little bit dirty,” she smiled wryly, her hand trembling slightly as she looked into her smooth palms.

*It is natural to feel the weight you currently feel. How can one’s shoulders be empty of the yoke of guilt after taking another’s life? You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t feel this way. You’d be a beast*
