Chapter 4

I woke up from a very annoying Delilah practically jumping on me.

"Get the fuck up," I move around in bed trying to keep my eyes closed from the bright light coming from the window. "You need to get dolled up." I open my eyes and push her off. "Fine." I curled up in the duvet and enjoyed my peace and quiet. Well... up until I felt ice-cold water on my face.

"You fucking bitch!" I sat up and wiped the water from my eyes.

"What else was I supposed to do?" She put the glass on the dresser and I got out of bed. I gave her a deadly glare and went into the bathroom. "I'm picking out your outfit!" She yells from the room.

"I think I'm old enough to do that myself." I washed my hands and brushed my teeth. I left the bathroom and saw Delilah laying a tight black dress on my bed with a pair of black heels and a black lingerie set. I walked over to the bed and picked up the panties. "Why does this matter?" She went into the bathroom with clothes in her hands.

"You have to make an impression." I rolled my eyes.

"For what? Am I applying for a position at the strip club?" She let out a laugh.

"You're going to meet someone high up in that corporation." I put the lingerie on and began putting on the dress. "But to be honest, I have no clue who they will be." I began to wonder if there's any chance that Christopher would be that person. But I'm sure he has an assistant. He had to have one.

I put on the heels and turned the curler on. Delilah came out of the bathroom dressed in a white blouse, a tight, knee-length skirt and black heels.

"You look hot as hell," she said as she approached me.

-------

We arrived at the Morris business building or I should call it a skyscraper. We got out of the car and Delilah handed me the file that had my resume. It wasn't too different from my real resume. The main difference was my name, birthday and some details about my past.

I looked up at the building and took a deep breath. Let's hope for the best.

I took a deep breath and took Delilah's lead inside. We reached the elevator and got in. I stood against the wall and looked through my resume one last time.

"You'll be okay," Delilah placed her hand on my shoulder, reassuring me. I nodded as the elevator reached the top floor. We got out and were immediately greeted by a reception desk with two blond women sitting at. We approached the desk and Delilah did the talking.

"Buongiorno," the lady looked up and greeted us with a smile. "Abbiamo due incontri in programma questa mattina. Uno alle dodici e trenta e l'altro alle dodici e quaranta." [We have two meetings scheduled. One at twelve-thirty and the other at twelve forty.] The lady looked down at her computer.

"Ella Cadell and Dena Jacobs?" De nodded and the lady smiled. "La signorina Cadell può andare a destra verso l'ufficio Morris e la signorina Jacobs può seguirla ma girare a sinistra verso l'ufficio Morelli. Numero 107 e 109 nel caso ti perdi." [Miss Cadell can go to the right towards the Morris office and Miss Jacobs can follow her but make a left turn towards the Morelli office. Number 107 and 109 in case you get lost.] We nodded and went towards our destinations. As we got to office 107, I stopped and looked at her. The plaque on the side of the door said:

107

Christopher Morris

CEO of Morris corp.

I was fuming at Delilah. "What the fuck?" I said half whispering. She smiled and walked towards room 109. I rolled my eyes and walked over to the small desk beside his office. A young brunette was sitting and typing something on her laptop. "Buongiorno, Ho una riunione in programma, posso entrare?" [Hello, I have a meeting scheduled, can I go in?] She looked me up and down and back at her computer.

"Sicuro," [Sure] I nodded and went towards the door. I took a deep breath and knocked.

"Entra," [Come in,] I heard a deep voice inside and opened the door. I walked in and closed the door behind me. I looked in front of me and met Chris's gaze. He looked surprised to see me. He stood up and walked around his desk. But why did it seem like he was expecting it? "Please, sit down." He motioned to the white armchair across from his desk and I began to walk forward. I took my hand out.

"Ella Cadell," he smiled and shook my hand. I sat down as he followed my every move. I looked into his eyes and it felt as if he was trying to look into my soul. I looked down and saw my folder.

"Miss Cadell, to what do I owe the pleasure?" I looked back up at him.

"I have a meeting scheduled for the assistant position," he smiled before I handed him my resume. He took it and opened it. He looked through it briefly and then looked back at me.

"You want to work for me?"

"I wasn't sure if it was you but I think we could put our past behind." He chuckled and walked over to his seat. He threw the file on the desk and sat down, crossing his arms and glueing his eyes to me.

"You know why the lady, I'm sure you talked to, is leaving?" I shook my head no. "She wanted to be more than just work for me. She wanted to be mine." He emphasized the last word.

"Let me guess, she figured you're a waste of time?" His eyes widened.

"Is this how you should talk at a job interview?" I looked down. "Eyes on mine." I looked up at him. "I didn't want anything more with her. If that is occurring, then this is not a good work environment. An environment where she walks in my office as if she's on a runway or a porn shoot." I chuckled. He didn't look pleased. "Let me ask you one question... Do you think this could become more than work?"

"No. I'm not interested in anyone. And as I said, I think our past encounters can be left in the past. I'm down to start from scratch. That's why I introduced myself, although I know very well you know who I am and where I live." His lips curled into a small smile. "Thank you, by the way." He gave me a nod.

"Do you speak Italian fluently?" I nodded. "What's your educational background?"

"Well, it's all written on the paper but I can say it again, I have a master's in Economics and communications with a minor in mathematics." He looked impressed.

"And you come from the US?" I nodded. "What brought you here?" A toxic husband.

"I've always wanted to live in Italy and after a break from my studies, I decided to follow that dream."

"Interesting. Why apply for the assistant position when you could've applied for the financial advisor position?"

"I think you'd benefit from my knowledge. I could assist you in more aspects than just when's your next meeting," he smiled.

"How long do you plan on living in a hotel?" Breathe, Aella, breathe...

"For a week at least. I have a place in mind that I'm going to check out soon so until then I guess." He nodded.

"Alright, you seem like the perfect fit," that went better than I anticipated. "But..." Shit. "Just because I find you sexually appealing and would do anything to touch you, I won't go easy on you." I chuckled. "Something's funny?"

"No, I'm just flattered." He stood up from his chair and went around the desk. He stood right in front of me and crossed his arms.

"Stand up." I furrowed my brows. "Stand. Up." He said with a deeper tone and I did as he pleased. "First rule: never make me repeat myself." I nodded. "Second," he placed his hand on my ass and pulled me to his chest. "Know your place." I looked him in the eyes. "But... I'm barely controlling myself so rule three: if I touch you like this or this," he moved his hand to the side of my face. He leaned into my ear. "Tell me to back off. Be as mean as you want." I blushed. He backed away. "And rule four: don't you dare try to do anything seducing or provocative in front of me." I nodded and he looked at my lips. "I didn't give you the contract yet," he moved his lips closer to mine but I heard the rules.

"No, you can't," he smiled and took his hands off of me.

"Good girl." I backed away and he went back to his seat. The amount of resistance I had to make to not give in was insane. "I'll call you tomorrow at around two and my driver will pick you up. I'll send you some documents to get you started later today." I nodded. "That'll be it, Ella." I smiled. "And for future conversations, call me Christopher." I nodded and turned to leave. "Angel, I didn't say you could leave." I looked back at him.

"I'm so-"

"No. I don't need that. Just know that I'll dismiss you." I nodded again. "Have a great day then, Ella."

"You too, Christopher," he and I shared one last glance and I left his office. I noticed the brunette girl's stare at me. I looked at her.

"Com'è andata?" [How did it go?]

"Bene," [great.] I walked past her and looked to my left to see if Delilah was done. The door she entered opened and my phone buzzed. I took it out and saw a text message from an unknown number.

Unknown: Be ready tonight at six. I'll pick you up. Chris.

Ella: Can I know where you're taking me?

I looked up and met Delilah's eyes. "How did it go?" She smiled, placed her hand on the small of my back and led us out towards the elevators.

"I got the job. You?"

"Yeah, same." She stopped and looked around.

"I'll go find the bathroom, I'll meet you down there." I nodded and pressed the elevator button. I stared at the doors and felt someone beside me. I looked to the side and saw the handsome dark-haired CEO.

"Christopher," I acknowledged his presence. He looked at me and smiled.

"Ella." I smiled as the doors opened. I stepped in while he followed me in. The elevator doors closed and he pressed the first floor. "I'm guessing you're going to the same floor," I nodded. "You know, I forgot to tell you, that you look beautiful in this," I smiled but remembered what rules he set for me. Just as I was about to say something he spoke. "But it's just a compliment. Nothing serious." I nodded and kept my eyes on the doors. "To answer your question, I want to get to know the person that'll work for me so I'm taking you to dinner." Shit.

"I hope there won't be any paparazzi." He chuckled.

"You don't want to be seen with me?" I shook my head no. "Wow, the first woman that doesn't want that."

"Not every girl wants that."

"True, but not the ones I've been with." I chuckled. "But you don't have to worry, there are no paparazzi in my penthouse." My eyes widened.

"What?" The doors opened.

"See you tonight." He walked out and I was left in shock. I stepped out and waited for De.

I do not want to go to his penthouse.
