He had left not too long after Emerald began to breathe. The sun was beginning to rise and soon his pack would wake up and notice his absence. It wouldn't be long before her brothers would notice that their sister was no longer there, but he had more time till they discovered her missing, unlike them discovering he was gone.

Malena was left with her, looking over her restlessly. When the sun had fully risen, she began to sense her awakening at any moment. She knew that Emerald would be confused as to this being the first time she's been out of captivity for nine years. She expected it and was mentally preparing herself for the countless questions she might receive.

After heating herself some water for her tea, she put the kettle on the coffee table along with the two cups. Not long after she placed the cups down, Emerald gasped out of her sleep.
