Four: His Obsession

ARNOLD

From the day I set my eyes on her, I knew I had to have her, take her, own her, claim her, and do anything to make her belong to me.

I had a routine of walking around Wandercoast, just to get familiar with the people I was one day going to rule and to listen to their needs and wants because I wanted them to love me and not fear me.

And who'd have thought that my routine would one day lead me to the most beautiful girl to ever exist.

It was the day I decided to talk a walk in the forest and as walked deeper than I've ever walked before, I couldn't help but feel something akin to warmth and expectancy, and just as I took a bend, leading to a deeper part of the woods, a figure came into sight.

Upon closer look, I discovered that the person, whoever it was was small in stature. It was a small boy and even though I was looking at him from quite a distance, there was almost something magnetic about the distance between us and I could tell that the boy was very good-looking.

Funny how that's the first thing you're noticing about a lad, about a kid who's barely above a pup. Loki mocked but I wasn't even paying attention to him.

The boy seemed to be picking fruits, fruits that fell from the wild trees. My earlier command seemed to fall on deaf ears as he continued going about his business.

I had a mind to just forget about the boy and move on but still, something stopped me from doing so. I didn't know what it was but if there was one thing I had come to learn in being the Alpha of one of the most powerful packs, it was that hunches and feelings couldn't be ignored.

I decided to follow this boy to wherever he goes. I could just call him and demand he tell me his identity and why he was alone in the woods but something I didn't understand was stopping me from doing that.

I guessed from just watching him from away, he already piqued my interest strangely and I was curious to find out more about him.

I didn't know why he would be here all alone in the woods. Didn't he have parents? What happened to taking care of your children and all the many tales that scared children from coming into the haunted woods? I just didn't understand it but I had a feeling that if I followed this boy, things would become clearer to me.

Keeping some distance, I followed the boy all the way to the very edge of the woods. Even as I walked, I had a feeling that the boy had a strange personality and Aura around him and I hated not knowing what it was. I was usually good in things like this but this? This completely eluded me which just heightened my resolve to get to the bottom of this.

We passed by several pathways that led deeper into the woods, coming to a stop beside a brook. The boy or whoever he was stopped to take several drinks before he continued. All through, he never for once stopped to look behind him to see if anyone was following him which I also found very strange. Even as a young wolf, his senses were supposed to be developed enough to know when someone is following him.

''Is this person even real?'' I murmured to myself as I was getting convinced that there was something odd about him.

The boy continued walking without a care in the world, he even broke into some sort of dance moves as he walked that made him look feminine and it make me chuckle. This boy had definitely not learned anything about how the world functions, if he was walking around the bush and dancing when there are predators around that, could punch on him and devour him without batting an eyelid.

"Oh my mummy," the feminine voice came from the girl and I stopped just as that voice was followed by a loud thud.

The boy had fallen, had dived head straight into the floor and there were soft groans that sounded like moans coming from his buried mess among the dried leaves.

"Hmmm, ouchhh," he moaned and goosebumps seemed to break out on my skin as those sounds traveled to the wrongest part of my body.

Geez. What the fuck? Why was he sounding like that and why the fuck was I having these reactions to him?

The boy took his time to pick himself up from the floor and immediately he sat up among the leaves, his hair that was packed came undone and fell in untamed waves all around his face and neck, and shuddered.

I heard him huff from where he sat and he raised his hand, feminine and well-manicured hands from where he sat to pull the hair from his face.

His face had completely been transformed into a feminine look with the untamed, wild, glorious gold hair on his head and I stopped, my heart licking up race as I stared at the prettiest girl I'd ever seen.

He was in fact a girl but the fact that he was cross-dressing and hiding his identity as a girl was by the way now as I stared and stared and got lost in the sheer beauty that was her.

She was pretty, insanely pretty with her gold hair, her doe eyes that were enthralling and had me captivated even though I was standing quite a distance from her, and her face that look almost translucent and glassy and made me want to run my hands over them.

Loki was prancing within me, excited as fuck as we stared at the girl that was only fit to be by our sides, at the girl with the untamed beauty, at the prospect of claiming her and marking her as ours.

We've never been this excited about a girl before.

The girl grabbed her hair which took her a while because that thing was enormous and fucking gigantic and she bound it completely so it looked like it belongs to a boy, then I watched as she started picking the fruits that had fallen to the ground.

When she was done, she took off toward the building that I noticed earlier and I stood there, completely mesmerized and lost.

I knew I had to find out more about the girl and I would and not only that, but I would also be damned if I don't make her mine.

She might not know it now but she already belonged to me.

********

And here I finally was, with a dream come true sitting beside me in the carriage.

After I discovered the identity of the girl posing as a boy, I made it a point of duty to stalk her- yeah, unbefitting of an Alpha, I know but I was so blindsided by her beauty that the only thing I wanted to do was to court her properly.

But her foster parents were adamant when they should have been gleeful that I was asking for their daughter’s hands in marriage but then, they were the same people that had her disguise herself as a boy and also made her not to attend any of my balls for spinster.

But all that had ended now. I was greatly saddened that she had to lose them but also, I was glad that I could be with her to console her so she wouldn't have to go through all these alone.

And God, how and why could a she-wolf be so fucking gorgeous and beautiful that she looked like art and she should be kept in a museum because she was worth more than just existing with the rest of the world.

She was mine too and I'd protect her and treat her like a Queen for the rest of our lives.

"How's the journey been treating you, my darling?" I asked as I watched her beautiful golden locks bounce with the moving carriage.

"Mhm hmm." She nodded with her gorgeous eyes trained on mine briefly before she shyly blinked away, I felt like kissing her fucking feet for simply existing.

"Ever been to Crescent Valley, beautiful?" I noticed how her ears turned slightly red every time I called her an endearing name and it confused me that someone as unreal as she wasn't used to being complimented, she'll never hear the end of them from me.

"No, never" she replied in a low voice, she'd not yet completely warmed up to me but I planned to let her take her time, we had together forever to figure things out.

"After you, it's the most beautiful sight I've ever laid my eyes on you know?" I complimented her again and her ears reddened as I'd expected, it was definitely the cutest reaction to compliments I'd ever gotten from anyone

"Oh?" She managed to reply, still sitting shyly in her corner and barely meeting my eyes.

"Yeah, you're easily the most beautiful sight a man could ever lay eyes on. You're absolutely perfect and I'll treat you in a way that befits a queen, That's a promise." I said while still feasting my eyes on her celestial beauty, knowing she'd be too shy to respond.

Just then, we reached the gates of Crescent Valley and I watched how her face lit up and her lips parted in surprise as she watched the huge golden gates before us. The gates had not even been opened and her eyes had widened and become inches apart from her initial reply.

Slowly, the golden gates majestically opened, and a smile that made my wolf and I melt helplessly crossed the expanse of Layla's gorgeous face.
