Escaping

One dark night in the middle of winter a lone male wolf ran through the snow. Eyes as dark as the night and fur to match. He carried a small bundle in his massive jaws. He fur painted red with the blood of the warriors from the Dark Knight Pack. The bundle in is mouth began to move and the whimpers of a young child could be heard in the gentle breeze. The male continued to run taking his prey with him. This child was worth the steal to him as she was powerful from birth. She was the only child of the Alpha and Luna of the Dark Knight Pack. He ran until he reached his own pack in the next state over. He had no children and his Luna had been killed months prior by his own hand. As he neared the pack house the child had begun to wail loudly causing other pack members to stare. His Beta met him at the bottom step of the pack house with a change of clothes in hand. He took the child from his Alpha and turned around so the Alpha could shift and change.

“Beta, take the child to a room and have an Omega shut her up.”

The Alpha said in a harsh voice as he made his way inside. The Beta dipped his head down and replied in a stern voice

“Yes, Alpha!”

*~16 years later~*

"I will get out of here one day and make you pay Alpha"

I shouted at the Alpha in front of me. He gave a bitter and cruel laugh

“Aww, you overestimate yourself Sweetheart. How cute…”

He said with an amused smile. I snarled at him and bared my teeth.

“You are a sorry excuse for an Alpha!”

I spat with venom. He shook his head as he walked closer to me.

“TSK, haven’t  you learned by now that I own you?”

He asked as he roughly grabbed my chin. I snorted and glared directly into his eyes

“You wish you owned me…”

He let out a loud growl from my show of disrespect. I laughed humorlessly at his disgusting face.

~ “Chica. This will end bad, why do you continue to agitate him?”~

I heard the sweet chastisement of my wolf, Arya, in my mind. I inwardly chuckled and gave her a mental smirk.

~ “Oh Arya…you know he is weak…if he didn’t poison us all the time…I could kill him in seconds even without having shifted to you yet…” ~

She snickered and shook her head.

*slap*

I winced, but refused to make any outward sound. I refuse to give him the pleasure he seeks from torturing me. He has done this every day since I could remember. I have been so abused that I don’t think I could ever feel any emotions anymore. I am damaged, but I refuse to let him take my pride or dignity. I will get out of here and take his life from him. I just need an opportunity.  I felt the familiar sting of the silver blade trailing down my back side.

“You will bear me a pup that will survive..”

I heard his voice by my ear and shuddered in disgust.

“It’s probably your sperm is weak..”

I said with pure disgust lacing my words. He growled and dug the blade deeper into my back.

“It always has to be the hard way with you doesn’t it?”

He asked as he moved around me to face me once again. I looked at him with a blank face  giving him no reaction.

“Not even a little whimper today?”

He asked with an arched eyebrow. I glared at him and scowled.

“You never learn..”

He said with pure agitation in his voice. He growled a moment later and I kept my face blank.

“You behave…or your punishment will be terrible…”

He said with a growl before he turned to walk out the open cell door which he slammed shut. I arched an eyebrow as the door made a loud clang when it shut.

“Make sure you feed that thing…if she is carrying my pup…I need her fed…”

I heard him say to the guard as he left the basement completely. I smirked and then smiled wide. This is my chance.

A few hours had passed since Alpha had left. I knew he would be gone for at least the day because I had overhead about a meeting he had in another city to try and get an ally. I slipped my hands out of the shackles and broke the ankle shackles. It burnt terribly because of the silver/wolfsbane coating them, but I needed out. I had lost so much weight that it was easy for me to get my wrists free. I went and hid behind where the cell door would open.

“Time to eat..”

The guard said as he opened the door. I waited as I heard him open the cell door and step inside. I smirked and rested my eyes on his neck.

“Where?”

He asked in confusion upon not seeing me in the chains. I bent and picked up the knife that the Alpha had mistakenly left behind. I quietly stepped behind the guard with a wide smile.

“I waited for this for so long….”

I said as I slid the blade across the front of his neck. He turned and looked at me with wide eyes as blood pooled down his body.

“SURPRISE!”

I said before plunging the blade into his chest hitting him right in the heart.

“Your Alpha made a mistake…sorry you had to die..”

I said with a shrug and then walked out of the open door.

~ “Nice Job Artemis..” ~

Arya let out a soft laugh in my head as I walked. I laughed coldly then replied

“Well, my name does mean Butcher..”

She let out a howl full of laughter.

~ “Yeah and mine can mean lioness, or noble, or melody…” ~

She said with a smile.

“I would say lioness…more like wolfess…suits us..”

I said with a smirk. She nodded and gave a wolfish smile. She had figured out how to mask our scent even without shifting. I snuck out of the basement and ran out of the pack house. No one seemed to notice me as I ran past them. I smiled as I reached the border and ran over it. I ran as far as I could then stopped. I was in the middle of a human town about 7 hours away. I walked through and got strange looks from the humans I passed.

“OH GOOD HEAVENS!!”

I heard a woman shout as she looked at me. I turned to face her and arched an eyebrow at her.

“What?”

I asked as I crossed my arms over my bare chest.

“CHILD YOU WILL FALL ILL BEING OUT HERE LIKE THAT!”

She said loudly causing me to look down at myself. I looked back up confused and tilted my head to the side a little. She disappeared into a building near her then came out and handed me some items.

“What are these?”

I asked as I stared at the items she handed me. Her look of pure shock at my question caused me to snicker inwardly.

“Clothes, child these are clothes…you need to put them on..”

She said softly. I arched my eyebrow again looking confused as I asked

“Why?”

She let out a scoff before she replied

“Where you raised in the wild?”

“No..In a cell…in a basement…”

I said deadpan giving her a pointed look.

“Oh my goodness!”

She exclaimed in pure horror. She helped me slip into the clothes and explained what they were. A plain black t-shirt, a dark red skirt, a plain pair of black panties, black socks, and black sneakers. She then went into another building she called a store and came out with a puffy dark red thing that had a line of fur.

“Here, put your arms out..”

She said softly before she slipped my arms through the sleeves.

“This is a jacket dear, to keep you warm.“

She said and smiled as she took a step back to admire her work.

“Um…thank you.”

I said before turning and walking off. I was headed no where in particular. Two days later I found myself in another state completely.

~ “Hey Art…I think we are in someone’s territory…”~

I heard Arya say just before something moving fast slammed into my body causing me to go flying. I felt something pierce into my left lung and looked down as blood seeped out of my open mouth. I let out a pained and garbled breath. I groaned and looked up with startled eyes at a high pitched noise and saw the metal thing slide towards me. It hit me and I gasped as more blood flowed out of my mouth and I began to see dark spots.

“I’m sorry Arya…”

I said in my mind before everything went dark.
