CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN.

EMILY’S POV.

Humming a turn mindlessly, I strolled along the lonely part leading to my house. It was a shortcut that I had not used in a while but today I decided to take that lane because I was exhausted and needed to rest.

While walking I noticed an unusual sound and I turned around to see a man standing beside me. He was wearing all black and wore a mask too, so I could only see a part of his face.

“Hey, “ I said trying to hide my fear, it was strange to see another person walking in the same lane because it's usually quiet and nobody uses it as much.

He did not say anything, so I kept walking fast and trying to be on high alert.

The man eventually caught up with him. At this point, the hair on the back of my neck was standing and I did not know if to run or pretend to be brave. So I choose the latter.

“Are you sure you did not take anything from that room,” he asked.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, walking faster, trying to get away from this creep.
