CHAPTER SIX

I readied myself for my first day working with Alpha Troy Hunter. Although the situation that brought me here was not ideal, I was determined to use this opportunity to gain insights into the Redmoon Pack.

I arrived at the designated location, and just as I expected, Troy was waiting for me. He greeted me with a nod.

"Morning, Blue."

"Good morning, Troy," I responded.

He informed me that today's plan involved a tour of the pack's training area. As we strolled along, I could not help but notice the training grounds were conveniently close to his house.

The training area was even more impressive than I had anticipated. It stretched widely and was well-equipped with various obstacles, weights, and training dummies. Sounds of effort, grunts, and the occasional clang of weights hitting the ground filled the air.

As we entered the training room, my eyes widened at the sight before me. Hefty men, each one of them looking like they could lift a building, were engaged in

various training activities. Sweat glistened on their skin as they pushed themselves to their limits.

My surprise did not escape Troy's notice, and he smirked slightly. "Impressed?"

I shrugged nonchalantly. “I just did not expect it to be this... intense.”

He chuckled. "Our pack values strength and unity. This training goes beyond physical fitness, it's about mental soundness too.”

“Hmm…” I nodded.

Troy pointed out different pack members, their roles becoming clearer as he spoke. My eyes roamed over the athletic figures, trying to find a way to exploit their weaknesses.

Our tour of the training area concluded, and Troy guided me to his main office. This one was larger than the previous one and located outside the Alpha house. As we entered, I noticed Xena was already present.

Xena's surprise was evident as he looked at me in Troy's office. He exchanged a glance with Troy, clearly puzzled by my presence.

"Blue," he remarked. “This area is usually restricted to authorized pack members.”

I smiled faintly, trying to appear casual. "I am aware, Xena. Troy was just showing me around."

He turned to Troy, seeking confirmation. Troy nodded, confirming my statement.

“Alright then. Welcome,” Xena said, though he seemed displeased.

"Thank you," I responded.

Xena's gaze lingered on me for a moment longer before shifting back to Troy. I could tell he had more questions, but he chose not to voice them in front of me. I knew Xena was a bit suspicious of me, so I had to be cautious around him.

As Troy and Xena exchanged words, my attention was drawn to a shelf filled with what appeared to be pack records and various items. My curiosity got the better of me and I could not resist the urge to run my fingers across the books on the shelf.

“Don't even think about it," he warned firmly.

I nodded, pretending to be obedient while secretly making a mental note to come back and explore the shelf when no one was around.

Troy instructed me to leave and start training in the designated area and he would join me shortly. However, as I walked back, I found myself lost within the vast building's layout. The training area, health care center, Alpha's main office, and other rooms made finding my way back much harder.

I stood before a door I had not seen before. Intrigued, I entered and discovered a collection of strange artifacts and weird art pieces, clearly belonging to the Redmoon Pack. My eyes fell on an ancient book written in a language I could not understand. I dropped it back and decided it was time to leave.

When I turned around, Troy was glaring at me, his anger burning red on his face.

"You are poking your nose in where it does not belong," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

There was something about his tone that made me feel like a child being scolded by an adult. I hated the feeling, but I could not help but feel a twinge of fear at his words. I straightened my back and looked him in the eye.

“And what if I have? What are you hiding?” I said

Troy's jaw tightened, "We have our reasons”

"Reasons that don't justify everything you have done," I shot back, my voice rising with my growing anger.

"Blue, you are playing a dangerous game," Troy's voice dropped into a low growl.

I scoffed, my fury getting the better of me.

"You think I am afraid of you or your pack?"

“Well, you should be,” Troy answered. “You are putting yourself in danger, Blue. You have no idea how powerful and deadly we are.”

"I know enough to understand that your pack's actions have cost us dearly," I shot back, my voice dripping with venom.

Troy took a step closer, his presence almost suffocating

“ What are you talking about Blue,” He asked, clearly taken aback by my outburst

I clenched my teeth, swallowing down my response. Arguing with him would not yield results, after all, this was not part of the reason I stayed behind.

“Whatever. I am going back to my room, my comfy little prison,” I sneered, pacing towards the door.

With a hint of amusement, Troy corrected my direction.

"The door is the other way." He chuckled.

I scoffed and brushed past him, heading toward the correct exit.

“Such an asshole” I murmured to myself as I walked back to the Alpha’s house.

When I am finally strong enough, I am going to make sure I take him down myself, I vowed.
