The first week was a breeze. The young fairy from the first night brought every meal to me. I learned his name was Thorn and that he was the eldest of his family. He was the prince of the eastern fairies while Rose was the princess of the northern fairies. He literally loved everything Rose did, the perfect match. Every day he would tell me a new story about his kingdom and family. He seemed so relieved to tell or connect with someone.

Near the end of the week, he told me of his capture and how long he had been here. Natalia had created puppets to replace royal captures and confined them to the palace with a spell. One I knew I could break when the time came. Thorn told me of when he first arrived. He said that they were taken to a chamber under the palace where a glowing pillar stood.
