Chapter 11: The Scene

Sitting in her office, the ringing of the phone, placed at the corner of her desk, made her jump. She had been staring at the pictures again. Even going as far as to pin them up on her way map of the town as to where the bodies were found. Hey bulletin board was littered with post it notes with dates, times, and other significant details of each victim. Dropping the red twine she had been trusting strong each tack, she picked up the phone.

"Investigator Jones, how can I help you?" She spoke into the receiver, all professional and routinely.

"Cilyna, I need you to come down to Seventh Street. There's been another attack." The Chief of police's deep voice boomed through the ear piece.

"Yes, sir. I'm on my way." She threw the phone back onto it's cradle, grabbed her leather jacket and started for the door.

As she passed the kitchen, headed for the front door, her husband stopped her.

"Supper is done, honey. Where are you going?" He said after noticing her jacket draped over her arm.
