Chapter 14: Betrayal

Thomas could get his heart squeeze at the sight of his wife lying sprawled out on the floor. A vision of strength and beauty, one of the reasons he fell in love with her. He could not believe he was so blind that he did not know his only love was there enemy his father and the counsel have been forcing training for. He rubbed his sweaty hands over his face, trying to wipe away his feelings from the past eighteen years.

"Why did it have to be you?" he muttered as he stared at her unconscious body.

"You and our children! Now I will be forced to do things I do not want to be subjected to." he bellowed knowing she was not going to respond.

If Thomas had not followed her and seen with his own eyes what she truly was, he never would have believed it to be true. He had brought the twins to they're neighbor at the end of their road and parked his truck just outside of the blue light range. He watched as everyone began screaming when Cilyna was dragged into the dense foliage and disappeared.
