CHAPTER TWO (2)

She shaky trailed the smooth jawlines of the child, giggling to herself while a teardrop slipped out from her eyes, staining the child's cheeks, who immediately gazed up at his mother, his little eyes flashing a deep shape of red.

He stretched his hand out and touched her cheek, she softly leaned into his touching, calmness flowing through her veins.

Her pride and joy.

Then, her eyes went back to the midwife who remained to kneel in her position, shaking uncontrollably like being electrified.

"A cur-AAHHH!!" Her words went cut by her scream, instantly she dropped on the floor...cold and Dead just like she deserved

"My child is not a curse, bitch!" She spatted with bitterness, slightly regaining her strength from her child's comforting touch.

But soon, loud banging came from the door outside. The mother stared blankly at the door, trying hard to see through the wood.

Behind that door was a large crowd of people, carrying different weapons while being soaked from the heavily pouring rain while the sky had seem to had become darker.

They wanted her son, they wanted to kill what they continuously chanted as a curse.

She gasped, shifting away from the door, holding her baby safely in her embrace.

She instantly scanned around the room, her gaze landing on a fur cloak. She went with difficulty, throwing it over her shoulders and her child. Her eyes snapped to the window, she went, pushing its opening, it led to the Forrest

She gasped loudly as her bare feet touched the cold, wet and chilling ground, she shivered as the wind caressed her cheeks, the lightening became worse and the sky grew darker if possible, it had turned into a shape of black but suddenly, it's color changed, from a dark shape of black to a suffocating shape of red.

A Blood Moon!

She didn't bother pounding, she had to save her child from the forces that wanted and would come after him from this day.

Steps by steps she painfully took, soon she broke into a race, running towards a much reddened Forrest.

From the state she was in, she couldn't run fast but, she didn't let that bring her down. Without looking back, she ran deeper into the forest. Soon, she finally came across a cave. Happily, she ran in for shelter. With a flash of golden eyes, the cave was surrounded by brightness coming from the unknown.

Her eyes scanned around, she realized that it was a dead-end, she was trapped. Slowly, she placed her baby on the ground but he was soon started wailing without the warmth from his mother.

But suddenly, she felt a presence behind her. Turning around sharply, she found a woman sealed with a black cloak. A witch...she realized.

Instantly, she stepped forward.

"Please, you have to help me, they are coming for my baby" she pleaded weakly while the woman examined her.

"Why should I help you? You child is a curse!" The woman pointed at the baby.

"You are just like me, a witch!" The mother pointed out while trying to ignore the aches from her lower body.

"Yes," the woman answered. "And I've seen the destiny your child holds. It is filled with nothing but darkness, a blood moon appeared after so many centuries, I believe we all know what that means for all of us. Am sure you have seen it too if you have the gift of divination"
