Chapter 7

The bustling hallway of Summerfield University was a hive of activity, students moving in every direction as classes changed. Maiari walked with a sense of purpose, her steps echoing against the polished floors. She was still getting used to the sprawling campus, the maze of hallways and classrooms.

Just as she was lost in her thoughts, a voice broke through the din, causing her to look up. Taylor stood before her, a smile playing on his lips. "I'm happy you followed my advice and really wanted to see D'Andre, right? Do you want me to tell you where his classroom is?"

Maiari's cheeks flushed slightly, a mix of surprise and embarrassment at Taylor's words. She nodded, offering a shy smile. "Yeah, it's true. But it's okay, I don't want to make it more awkward if we happen to bump into each other. Just show me where the office of the President is instead."

Taylor's smile widened, a knowing glint in his eyes. "Sure thing. The office of the President is on the second floor, just follow me.
