Chapter twenty.

Lisa walked into the bar, taking a while to find Karen, who was sitting at the corner booth in the conspicuous corner.

Karen looked up as she walked over and said, "You came straight from work?"

Lisa couldn't care to explain, humming lightly. She slid into the leather seat opposite her. "What happened to you? You look like you haven't seen a good day in a while."

Karen drove her hand through her dirty blonde hair, then said, "Do I look that bad?"

"Did something happen?" Lisa replied with the question.

"It is nothing." Her best friend muttered in a low voice. "Just that Sienna came back, and the house is starting to become noisy, as always."

It was the beginning of December, and many schools were starting to go on holiday. Sienna was Karen's eldest sister, the apple in the eyes of her parents, and there was a very noticeable difference in the treatment of the two.

Her parents even asked Karen to drop out of school just so her sister could go to university, and even if it was reasonable
