CHAPTER 4

Daniel Blackwood is a name synonymous with success and wealth. He is a self-made billionaire, who had built an empire from scratch. He is a man who had the Midas touch, everything he touched turned to gold.

Daniel was born in a small town in the Midwest. He grew up in a middle-class family and knew the value of hard work from an early age. He started working odd jobs to support his family when he was still in high school. He worked at a gas station, a grocery store, and even mowed lawns for extra money.

Despite having a rough start in life, Daniel was determined to make something of himself. He had a vision for his life, and he worked tirelessly towards achieving it. He went to college, studying business and economics, and graduated at the top of his class.

After college, Daniel started his first business with just a few thousand dollars he had saved up. He started a software company, and within a few years, it was worth millions. He used the profits from his first business to invest in other ventures, and before long, he had built a massive empire.

Daniel Blackwood was now a household name. He was often featured in Forbes' list of the world's richest people, and he was admired by many for his business acumen and success.

However, behind the glamorous appearance of success, Daniel Blackwood was a man with a secret. Despite his immense wealth, he was lonely and unfulfilled. He had sacrificed his personal life for his business, and he had no real friends or family to speak of.

Daniel's childhood was marked by a traumatic event that would shape his ideas about women and relationships for years to come. When he was just a young boy, Daniel's mother abandoned him and his sick father, leaving them to fend for themselves in the face of poverty and illness.

As a child, he struggled to understand why his mother would leave them behind, and he often felt abandoned and alone. His father, who was already in poor health, struggled to care for him and provide for their basic needs.

Growing up in these circumstances, Daniel developed a deep mistrust of women and their motives. He saw his mother's actions as selfish and cruel, and he believed that all women were capable of betraying those they claimed to love.

This worldview was reinforced by his experiences as he grew older. He saw friends and acquaintances cheat on their partners, and he heard stories of women using men for their money and social status. In his mind, women were fickle, untrustworthy creatures who could not be relied upon.

Daniel sat at his desk, staring blankly at the computer screen in front of him, but not really reading the report on the screen. Instead, he kept thinking about the young journalist who had visited his office a week ago.

She had come to interview him for an article she was writing about successful entrepreneurs, and he had been struck by her intelligence, wit, and stunning beauty that had captivated him from the moment she had walked into his office.

He had tried to focus on his work, but his mind kept wandering back to her. Her striking features, her intelligence, and her fiery passion for her work had left an indelible impression on him

He couldn't shake the image of her out of his head - the way her hair fell in soft waves around her face, the way her eyes sparkled when she had managed to smile, the way her voice had sent shivers down his spine.

He found himself daydreaming about her at odd moments throughout the day, imagining what it would be like to take her to bed and explore every inch of her body.

Daniel knew he shouldn't be thinking about her like this but he couldn't help the way he felt, the way his body responded to the mere thought of her.

He tried to push her out of his mind but it was no use. She seemed to haunt him, and even when he was in meetings  or discussing business deals with his partners, he found himself getting distracted, his thoughts wandering to her slim figure and full lips.

As he replayed the interview in his mind, he didn't notice when his personal assistant, Mrs. Stakes, walked into his office.

She noticed he was distracted and wasn't even aware of her presence and then she decided to call him back to reality.

"Hello Mr. Blackwood" she greeted.

At this point Daniel realized he wasn't the only one in his office.

"Yes. Mrs. Stakes" he replied

"I came to drop the files you asked for" She said as she dropped a bunch of files on his table.

"Oh!" He replied absent-mindedly.

"Any other thing you would want me to do sir?" She said as she stood there waiting for the next command from him.

"None for now" came his reply.

"Very well then. I shall take my leave" she said and started heading towards the door.

Finally, he had made a decision. He knew he had to see her again.

"Mrs Stakes?" He called out just as she was about opening the door.

"Schedule another interview for 9am tomorrow with the journalist who came to see me last week," he said.

She stopped immediately, and with a puzzled look on her face turned back to him and replied "Are you sure that's a good idea, sir?" she asked.

"You have an important meeting with Jamestown Enterprise scheduled for 10am tomorrow and you don't want to give the wrong impression." She reminded him.

Daniel raised his face from the computer screen for the first time since she had walked into his office minutes ago and stared at her coldly, making her visibly tense.

He was not used to people questioning his every move, and he had never let anyone's opinions get in the way of his desires. He wanted to pursue what he wanted, not what was expected of him.

"Just do it," he said curtly and motioned for her to leave.

She hesitated for a moment longer before finally conceding. "Very well, sir. I'll make the arrangements."

As his personal assistant left him to the silence of his office, he knew she was right after all. He was taking a risk. He had an important meeting the next morning but he couldn't resist the temptation.

Daniel couldn't help but feel a thrill of anticipation. Minutes and hours passed, and he found himself becoming increasingly anxious.

He couldn't stop thinking about her, couldn't stop imagining what it would be like to see her again. He wanted to see her again, to hear her voice, and as he soon discovered, to lure her to his bed and have her all to himself.
