Dr Ben's office....

Dr Ben sat in his chair and thought back to when he and Derrick first met.

Derrick and Dr Ben were very good friends despite the age gap between them. They meet when Dr Ben approached Derrick to invest in his hospital two years ago.

They just clicked and have been friends since that time.

Derrick asked Dr Ben a favour, and that is to operate on Ava's brother and he was very happy to help because Derrick also helped him, but that was not the main reason for him agreeing to operate on Ava's brother.

His main reason was that this is the first time that he has seen Derrick pay attention to the opposite sex. Derrick does not like girls coming close to him.

Derrick was every woman's dream in F city. He was known as the 'Nation's husband'. Many ladies have tried to seduce him, ladies including female celebrities who were very pretty and has a very good figure but none succeeded in seducing him instead their career were destroyed and they were left with no choice but to leave the entertainment industry and the whereabouts of the ladies who tried to seduce Derrick was unknown.

They were never seen again.

And people started speculating and also doubting Derrick's sexuality. People started saying that he is definitely gay for him to turn down many beauties who were throwing themselves at him.

He must be gay.

That was how the news of Derrick been gay started spreading. Many lady's heart was broken, but they were happy at the same time because no girl would be able to win him over, so they can only admire him from afar.

On Derrick's side, he did not bother to clear his name and was even happy that those ladies would not disturb him any more. He knew that those ladies were just greedy and were approaching him because of his money and how powerful his family was.

When Derrick asked Dr Ben to operate on Ava's brother he was shocked, surprised, marvelled, amazed at any adjective you can use to qualify his the emotion he felt when Derrick asked him. This was the first time Derrick has attempted to help a girl out.

He did not even help when a lady fainted on him, instead she pushed the lady off him and he removed his cloth and told his assistant to depose of the cloth and buy him a new pair.

He really deserves the nickname given to him "Misogyny CEO"

Dr Ben is really happy that Derrick is making progress by offering help to Ava. It seems he likes her.

"I hope they end up together and also be happy together," Dr Ben said while sitting down in his office with his leather facing the big French window.

Matthew's hospital room....

It has been one long hour since the surgery and Ava sat on the chair beside the bed Matt was lying on and was waiting patiently for her brother to wake up.

Ava was about to stand up and go to the doctor to complain that it has been one hour but her brother has not woken up yet. She walked one step away from Matt's bed when she heard a low groan.

"Aghh," Matt groaned again. He opened his eyes. His eyes were blurry for some seconds before he could clearly see his surroundings. Ava ran to him and was asking him questions worriedly.

"I am fine...I just have a little head ache, that's all," Matt said rubbing his throat. His throat was feeling dry and sour and he needed to drink water.

"Water," Matt said, but his voice was not load.

"Hmm?" Ava looked at her bro pointing at the jar of water on the coffee table in the mini space used as living room in the wide room.

"Oh... You want water?" Ava asked, and Matt nodded his head.

"Yes" Matt said.

"Wait, I will get it for you," Ava said, walking towards the coffee table, while she was scolding Matt for being careless.

"You just came out from a serious surgery, so you can not move anyhow you want," Ava said.

"Chtt... says the person that ran around even when she was injured seriously four years ago," Matt said. Ava was reminded of their mother when she was still alive.

"I had to do something! Mother was so sock at that time that she was not able to move so we had to take care of her and besides even if I wanted to rest, do you think that those two snakes called Sharon and Clara would allow me rest even for a minute?" Ava asked rhetorically.

"You are indeed right," Matt said, nodding his head in agreement. Of course, he knew how wicked and heartless those pairs can be.

"Let us forget all about those bad memories and focus on what lies ahead," Ava said.

"Speaking of that, how could you afford this room, sister?" Matt asked. It was obviously the way he was acting that he was surprised.

Now Matt said it, Ava noticed how wide and we'll furnished the room was. It had flowers both on the coffee table and also by the window side. Ava walked to the window and a sweet scent filled her nose. She smelled the flowers and noticed that the scent was coming from the flowers.

She smelled the rest and noticed that not all flowers were scented. She picked up a single rose from the flower vase and brought it to her nose, while staring into space.

"Sis, did you pay for this room?" Matt asked with a worried look on his face because he was scared that maybe his sister sacrificed herself in other to save him.

"I did not!" Ava said in protested, waving her hands up.

"If you did not, then who paid for it?" Matt asked. He looked at his sister and could see that she herself was clueless and did not know who paid for the room.

"The doctor that operated on you said that your previous room was not conducive and you would like to move you to a good room" Matt asked

"That easy?" Matt shook his head in denial.

"What of the person who paid the surgery's fine?

"I do not know him, he decided to ask for help as a good Samaritan and he does not even want to be known as he choose to remain anonymous" Ava said.

"You really do not know who helped us?" Matt asked again.

"I said I do not know!" Ava shouted out of frustration.

"Like really, really?" Ava wanted to say she did not know the mysterious helper who helped them, but when she saw Matt laughing, she figured out that her brother was teasing her. She took one of the fluffy pillows off the bed and started hitting Matt.

"You...you," Ava said while hitting him. She knew that what she was doing would cause no harm, so she did not listen to Matt protesting.

"How can you have the heart to hit a sick person?!" Matt said, dodging her attacks and fighting back.

"A sick person? Do not make me laugh! You look just fine to me! You..." Ava and Matt continued bickering at each other like small children fighting for one toy, but they halted immediately they heard a voice.

"You do not know me?" A sexy, calm and powerful voice said, chuckling.

Few minutes ago.....

Few minutes before Ava and Matt started playing.....

"Are you okay? Do you feel any pain?" Ava asked.

"I am fine, sis... I" before Matt could continue, they were interrupted by a phone sound and it sounded like a message.

"Who is it?" Matt asked, looking at Ava.

"I do not know, let me check," Ava said. She put her hand in her pocket and brought out her phone. She clicked on the message and she immediately shouted.

"Ahh!"

"What is it? What is it?" Matt asked worriedly. He was really worried.

"I just got a job!" Ava said happily.

"Which company is that?" Matt asked.

"J & D group" Ava said. She was grinning from ear to ear.

"That multi millionaire company?" Matt asked.

"Yeap!" Ava said, dancing while walking around the room.

"How come you were given a job? Did you apply for a job in the company?" Matt asked.

"Yes. I applied to four different companies, and they were the only one who replied to me," Ava said.

"So, which position did you apply for?" Matt asked.

"The personal assistant to the CEO of the company," Ava said.

"Really?" Matt asked. He could not believe his sister's luck.

"Yes and I am to resume next week Monday" Ava said happily. She is now very happy that she now has a job that she can use to take care of her and her brother.

"Congrats sis," Matt said.

"Thank you little bro!" Ava said, squeezing his cheeks.

"Do not do that! I am not a child anymore!" Matt complained.

You all know what happened next....

Present.....

"You do not know me?" A sexy, calm and powerful voice said, chuckling. Derrick asked, looking at Ava and her brother.

"Sister, do you know him?" Matt whispered to Ava.

"I am not sure, he looks kind of familiar but I can not seem to remember where I have seen him," Ava whispered back to him.

Derrick watched the two whisper words to each other and could only smile.

"You really do not remember me?" Derrick asked again.

"You look familiar but I do not remember where I have seen you before," Ava said trembling. This man is extremely handsome and tall. He has excellent features. God is really unfair!

"Okay, I will give you one week to remember where and how we first met," Derrick said.

"One week?" Ava asked, surprised. "Is he giving her orders from the first time that they meet?" Ava glared at Derrick.

"Is the time I gave you too much?" Derrick asked, looking at Ava.

"Too much.." Ava tried to calm down her nerves, she breathes in and out before she calmed down.

"It is not too much," Ava said, her teeth gritting.

"Sir, are you the person who paid my medical bills and switched me into this room?" Matt suddenly asked.

"Yes..." Derrick said and walked close to Matt's bed. He removed his hand from his pocket and stretches it for a handshake.

"Nice to meet you, Matt" Derrick said, smiling friendly.

"Nice... N...nice to meet you too," Matt said receiving the handshake. "please who can you be?" Matt asked.

"I am Derrick Anders," Derrick said.

"Derrick Anders?" Matt and Ava murmured.

Derrick saw their confused expression and knew that they did not know him and then remembered that he told Dr Ben not to tell them who he was.

"I am your benefactor," Derrick said in four sentences.

Ava and Matt were both shocked.

"You were the one that paid for my brother's surgery and also moved to this room?" Ava asked.

"Yes" Derrick said.

"Why would you help someone you do not know anything about?" Ava asked. It is not that she was ungrateful, but she was just surprised that people like this man standing in front of her still exist.

"I am returning the favour to you," Derrick said.

"Favour?" Ava and Matt said at the same time.

"Favour? When did you help him, sister?" Matt asked.

"I do not remember," Ava said, looking at Matt and back at Derrick.

"You have...." Derrick was about to say something but he was halted by Ava's shout.

"Ahh!" Ava shouted suddenly as she remembered where she had met this man before.

"What is it, sister?" Matt asked.

"I now remembered where I met him," Ava said, pointing at Derrick.

"Is that why you shouted? I almost thought that something had happened to you! I almost had a heart attack because of you!" Matt shouted at Ava.
