Chapter 6.1

The next day, Madison went to work but is still thinking about the incident yesterday. Madison couldn’t forget about the man she saw who disappeared in a speed of light. It gave her goosebumps all night.

“Hey!”

“Holly molly! What?” Madison almost skipped a heartbeat because of shock when her doctor gay friend, Charlie, tapped her on the back.

“Girl! You got to stop drinking coffee! You don’t look pretty anymore, what’s the stress honey?”

“I survive because of coffee. What are you doing here?”

“I have no more patients for today. That’s great, kids getting sick are decreasing so does my bank account balance.”

“So? Why are you here? Are you going to spend your free time bothering me?”

“Nope! I came here to congratulate you about the show. I wanted to congratulate you earlier but I couldn’t find time. Anyway, I’m seeing you on the television! I’m excited!”

“It’s just a one-time thing, and I’m just a guest.”

“Who knows? If they see you, they might cast you again. Ready to receive some business cards from entertainment agencies?”

“Shut up, I won’t be receiving any. Even if I do, I won’t accept it anyway.”

Madison drinks water as Charlie continues to speak.

“I heard that the handsome actor, my love and dearest Aleister, is part of the cast. Have you met him yet?” Madison puts her cup down and shook her head.

“I haven’t seen him; I don’t even know him. We had the briefing yesterday but he didn’t come.”

“Gosh, you’re so lucky to be casted with him. Do you know how big a celebrity he is?”

“No.” Charlie side-eyed her and shook his head.

“What a boring life you have, indeed. I would rather be an unknown doctor than to be like you, who is great and known, but lives in a boring life. You should go have a life!”

“I’m breathing, so I have a life.”

“Whatever, I’m going now! Make sure to ask Aleister an autograph for me!”

“Like I would.” Charlie glared at her and she just faked a smile. He left and Madison just laughed.

Meanwhile, Louve came to a warehouse where the two new vampire victims are being held. The guy from the hospital and the woman who fell from the rooftop are both tied up in a chair. It was the werewolves who pretended to be emergency staffs to rescue the woman from the fall. It is also why they made a reason for Madison not to be able to join them on the ambulance.

“Louve, I think Madison is already suspecting. She went to the rooftop yesterday and a vampire even locked her there. Fortunately, a werewolf was there. It could have been dangerous for her if no one was guarding her,” said by one of the werewolves.

“Knowing her, if she gets suspicious of something she won’t stop until she finds answers. I also think that it’s time to let her slowly enter our world.”

“So, you would just let her get involve with us and the vampires?”

“Yes, just make sure she doesn’t get harm in anyway.”

They stopped talking when both of the vampire victims woke up. The man looked at Louve angrily.

“What do you want from us?! Why are you keeping us here?!”

“Don’t worry we wont harm you. We keep you here so you can avoid hurting people; you’ll thank us eventually.”

“So why are you keeping us here? And what do you mean by, us, hurting other people?” asked by the woman calmly.

“Do you remember what happened to you? Do you remember falling from a rooftop?”

“Y-Yeah, I-I do remember.”

“Well, didn’t you even wonder how you’re still alive? Falling from the rooftop which has twenty floors is just either death or being critical in the hospital. Check yourself, no major injury or even bruises. Do you still think you’re a human?” The woman seemed shock by the last question. She examines her body and realizes all the things Louve said.

“Just go straight to the point you woman! Why are you being overdramatic?!” yelled by the man who starts to be impatient. Louve looked at him before stepping back and signaling her men to untie them.

“You guys are not human anymore. You’ve been infected by a vampire. You,” she says as she points to the man. “You’ve been attacked by a monster on an alley near a hospital. You almost got cremated, thank us that we picked you up. Also, don’t you remember attacking me? Well, it’s okay because it’s normal to black-out when you first have your powers.”

The man looked so shock and was in disbelief after hearing what Louve said. His eyes started to turn red and she tried to attack Louve but the other werewolves managed to stop him.

Louve turns to the woman and pointed her as she speaks.

“And you, if you think he was a perverted man then you’re wrong. He wasn’t trying to do anything sexual, he bit you and then you fell. Your heart stopped when you were inside the ambulance. You are alive now because of the vampire infection.” She stepped back and looked at both of the victims. “Both of you are now vampires and are immortals. Your heart is not beating at this moment, because that’s how vampires are. While we...we are the werewolves. The enemies of the vampires.”

Both the man and the woman become alerted as they heard Louve’s last sentence. She spoke again even before they can move.

“Don’t worry, as I said earlier, we will not harm you. We will send you to the vampires, don’t worry you’ll be in good hands. I know it’s not easy to process everything you just heard, but that’s just how life works. It’s up to you how to interpret it. You might look at this on a brighter side because you would be able to live for hundred or thousand years or think of it as a curse. It’s up to you and good luck.” Louve left after biding her goodbyes to them.

Meanwhile, Madison is currently at the rooftop of the hospital talking her break. She is sitting at a bench near the barricades while feeling the cold breeze of the air. She can’t stop thinking about what she saw at the rooftop yesterday. What bothers her the most is the man she saw at another building and his red glowing eyes.

Madison puts her cup of coffee down at the bench and brings out, from her pocket, the bracelet she found. She examines the bracelet and stares at the pendant with the letter V on it. Madison still wonders where the woman from the fall went.

“What is going on?” she softly asks herself as she creases the bracelet.

Few minutes later, the wind become strong and aggressive. People on the rooftop started panicking and evacuating. Madison stood up to enter the building but the wind became more aggressive and caused her to have a hard time walking.

The direction of the wind is opposite to the way where Madison is headed. That is why every step she takes becomes hard as it contradicts her body force. The wind become too strong that Madison lost her balance. She got pushed by the wind all the way to the barricade of the rooftop.

She tries to hold and go against the force of the wind. She suddenly saw a man, wearing a mask, running towards her but even before he could reach her, she lost balance and slipped at the barricade of the rooftop.
