Chapter 2 : William's Pov

As we were wondering who was knocking, the door was forced open and someone who was wearing a mask entered the room with weapons.

"How did they locate the secret room?" I thought to myself.

One of the robbers shouted, "If anyone moves, I shoot! Everyone stay calm!"

Some of the robbers were with a bag, some had taken the office properties and money in some offices. The armed robbers forcefully collected our cell phone and the jewelry which the ladies were putting on.

"Give me my phone," Olivia said, as she boldly tried to attack the robbers, one of them fired the gun which sounded loud in the room, as everyone was gripped with fear and tension. As the CEO and leader of the company, I tried to safeguard my staff members but I was wounded in the process of saving Olivia.

"Do you want to die?" A robber asked me with an angry countenance.

"No! Please don't hurt anyone!" Chloe responded.

"Why are you doing this to us?" I asked the armed robbers.

"Will you shut up!" The robber said, hitting my arm with a gun.

As we were dragging the issue, the police had arrived and we heard the sound of sirens, sounding very loud.

"The police are around, retreat! retreat!" A robber shouted at his colleagues. They hurriedly left the office through the back door and went with some money and properties. The police were unable to apprehend them, but they were able to prevent them from causing more harm.

When the armed robbers left the office, everything became calm and the police guarded everywhere and treated those that were wounded. I was surprised that the office transitioned from a friendly Monday morning to a terrific experience.

As everyone was gaining balance, the police collected statements from my staff members and me. I was tense, feeling anxious and worried.

"Mr. Williams, are you okay?" A police officer asked me.

"Yes, just a little bit wounded," I responded, pointing to my hand.

"Sorry sir, we are sorry for not coming as at when due, please forgive us." The offer said with a concerned face.

"It's okay officer, thank you for coming."

We closed the office for the day, everyone went home and I managed to drive myself home.

When I finally got home, the gateman opened the gate for me and when I got down, he saw my wounded hand and took my bags and files inside.

"What happened to your hand?" my wife, Layla Robinson, asked, looking towards the direction of my hand.

"Are you okay? Williams, what's the meaning of that nonsense act? Saving your staff members and putting your life at risk? Do you have superpowers?" Layla said with an angry tone.

"Layla, are you supposed to be saying this? You are supposed to sympathize with me for my losses and wounds, instead, you are blaming me."

"Why will you be risking your life for your staff members? Oh, it's those girls with tiny legs, right? Imagine! Are they worth dying for Williams" Layla said with an angry countenance.

I tried to explain what happened in detail but Layla wouldn't listen.

"Will you just try and listen to me, Layla, just stop nagging and pay attention to details!!" I said with frustration.

"Ohh, I'm nagging! Really? No problem, I won't meddle in your affairs again." Layla said.

I was very frustrated combining the events that happened at the office and the nagging at home. As I was trying to figure out the different situations, I suddenly heard a knock on our door.

"Who is that?" I shouted furiously. The knock sounded again

"What's the meaning of that rubbish? Who is knocking at the door? Don't you have a name?" Lalyla responded.

After a while, everywhere became silent as I waited a little bit and walked towards the door. When I got to the door, I couldn't see anyone but I saw an unknown box package in front of the door. I was afraid to open it, thinking of the chaos that happened at work recently, so I called my wife to come and see.

"Layla! Layla Layla!"  I called her from outside.

"Yes, what is it? Why are you disturbing me, I've said I won't be meddling. Layla said, answering me from the living room.

"Please just come and see," I told her, looking at the box.

"What's this?" Layla asked me as she focused on the box.

"I didn't know what was inside the box. We heard a knock on the door a few minutes ago and I didn't see anyone but saw a box." I responded.

"Okay, I think we should check what is inside the box instead of just staring at it," Layla told me.

I moved forward and I opened the box gently which contained a letter, the contents of the letter were "Expect the unexpected, watch your back Williams."

"What is the meaning of this?" I said, looking at the letter.

"Give me," Layla said, snatching the letter from my hand, as she read it.

"We are no longer secure Layla."

"What do you mean by that?! Can you see what you have done Williams!! See what promiscuity has brought you too!! You can't take your eyes off your staff and now you have gotten into trouble." Layla shouted.

"Really? I told you that we were robbed in the office today and I got wounded. Now we received an anonymous letter threatening us, so this is all you have to say?" I shouted with an angry tone, my voice filled with rage.

"Now you are raising your voice at me? Because of those tiny things?" Lalyla walked out on me, going inside the house, as I held her hand.

"Why are you holding me? Get your filthy hands off me, Williams." She removed my hand immediately.

"Layla, Layla!!!" I called several times, but she didn't answer me.

I was hooked on the violence in my house and the threat to my office.
