Chapter 3 : Chloe's Pov

When I got to the office the next day, everywhere was still tensed, the security guard has increased and everyone looked more careful.

" Chloe! You look sad, what's wrong?" Annabel, the receptionist, asked me.

"Yes, I'm just bothered about the robbery of yesterday, I can't figure out why they came and who they came for exactly." I replied Annabel.

"Thinking cannot solve the issues, let's be grateful that no one was killed." She said.

"Oh! That's true."

I went to my office and rearranged everywhere, I was thinking about the event that happened yesterday and how my boss, almost got killed for trying to rescue us from danger. I was surprised at his bravery and boldness.

"Good morning everyone!" My boss, Mr. Williams Robinson said with a loud voice

"Good morning Sir." I responded

"Chloe, call everyone to the reception area now." Mr. Williams said, as I gathered everyone at the reception. There was a man beside my boss, I couldn't ask who he was, I just kept thinking and staring at the person.

"I'm sorry about what happened yesterday, I apologize for putting your lives at risk, as we all can see the security is tightened and I apologize for the stolen properties and funds. I assure you that the company will refund everything you might have lost." Mr. Williams said, looking at the staff members.

"Yes sir, thank you for your selfless act sir, we appreciate you sir." Olivia responded.

"Thank you Olivia. As we can see, we have a visitor here among us, his name his Detective Richard. He will doing investigations about the robbery that happened in our office yesterday, you all should cooperate with him by giving necessary information that can help crack this case." Mr. Williams said.

"Good morning everyone, my name is Detective Richard from the FBI." He showed his Identity card while doing the Introduction.

"Welcome sir." I responded.

"Thank you ma'am. There was an armed robbery here yesterday, and when Mr. Williams got home he got a letter saying "Expect the unexpected, watch your back Williams." So definitely someone is orchestrating this robbery and would still want to make another move, and we have to stop the person by getting necessary information and clues that can link us to the evil doer." Detective Richard said, looking at the faces of everyone.

The issue was getting serious, I was happy that there would be a solution and our safety would be guaranteed.

"The first step for me is to check the surveillance camera footage of the office for that very day, how do I get that?" Detective Richard asked Mr. Williams.

"We will have to go to the control room in the basement." Mr. Williams said.

"Should we go together or others should follow sir?" Detective Richard asked.

"Let everyone go, anyone might have an idea that can lead us to the truth." Mr. Williams replied.

As we walked towards the basement, all the staff members were silent with an hightened suspense till we finally got to the control room, detective Richard checked everything and searched for the footage of that particular day when the robbery took place.

"Sir, the footage for that day is missing!" Detective Richard said, with a tone of worry in his voice.

"Deleted? How possible is that?" Mr. Williams asked.

"It's very possible, either manually or automatically by someone who has access to the CCTV control room, it means that somebody in this office did this." Detective Richard said

"How do we know that sir? So what do we do?" I asked.

"I need to recover the deleted file, because there is something important in that footage for that person to delete it." Detective Richard said, looking at the screen of the CCTV.

"But in most cases, when a footage  is deleted, it's always difficult to restore." Mr Williams said.

"Well, You can get deleted CCTV footage by some ways and one of the ways is by using data recovery software, which can scan the storage device for deleted files and attempt to recover them. Another way is by using a professional data recovery service, which can use specialized equipment and techniques to recover deleted files." Detective Richard said, rearranging the settings of the CCTV

There was suspense everywhere, we all wanted to know who the culprit was, Mr. Williams Robinson was more anxious than others, as he wanted to know who orchestrated the robbery. That means the person would be connected to the letter that was dropped in front of his house.

After waiting for a long time in the CCTV control room, detective Richard finally broke the silence. "Here it is! I finally the deleted footage of that particular day."

The tension increased, as everyone fixed their gaze on the monitoring screen, expecting to see the culprit. As we watched the footage, we saw when My boss and I entered the office. After a while we saw when the armed robbers were entering the office, how they stole things and came to meet us in the secret room.

Suddenly we saw something that was shocking— we saw our receptionist, Annabel, discussing with the masked armed robbers and giving them directions about the office.

I remembered that she was not with us in the secret room, I thought she was hiding somewhere else, unknowingly she was giving the robbers directions. Annabel was my close friend and partner, I never knew her to be like that.

"Annabel, what's the meaning of this?" Mr. Williams asked with a tone of worry and his voice filled with anger.

"Sir…it's…. I…. I..can explain…" Annabel stammered, as I cut in sharply.

"Explain? What have we done that made you put our lives in danger? Are you so heartless?" I said.

"This is uncalled for, you should be arrested." Olivia said, looking at her.

As we were busy insulting Annabel, my boss, Mr. Williams, received a message on his phone and he read the contents.

"This is just the beginning, Williams."
