CHAPTER 4 Million-Dollar Love

A long flight had passed and Tyler finally arrived in front of his penthouse door. With everything that happened in Vegas: the rejected proposal and the marriage booze, he was looking forward to having peace in his own home at last.

But he was not even getting it tonight, rather, it would be right to say, his grandfather wasn’t giving it anytime soon.

As Hawkins opened the door to his penthouse, he immediately noticed the vibrant reflection illuminated by the glass chandelier hanging at the ceiling.

He cussed aloud, “You gotta be fucking kidding me, right now!” then shook his head at Hawkins.

So he swung the door completely and heard a popping sound from a party popper installed behind the door while the confetti rained down on him like crazy.

As he entered his place, an LED projector was continuously playing an AVP of their romantic journey together. Fury and anger dawned on his face, “Hawkins, what’s the meaning of this?”

But Hawkins was frozen to a standing position when he saw all the surprised preparation done inside the penthouse of the most meticulous person he’s ever known.

Sweat accumulated around his forehead, he didn’t know what kind of excuse would pacify this man since he knew nothing about it at all.

As his own saliva started filling the roof of his palate, he heard an old husky familiar voice, “Surprise, son!” the old man shouted then blew the plastic horn in his hand.

“Grandpa! Didn’t know you were coming!” he responded glaring at Hawkins.

“Don’t be mad at him. Of course, he didn’t know, it was supposed to be a surprise,” then his grandfather laughed aloud.

Knowing he could never rest tonight, he sent his grandfather a kiss on the cheek and sat comfortably on the couch with his feet on the table.

Hawkins anticipated what he wanted, so he quickly got a bottle of rum and two drinking glasses. He prepared the drinks while his two bosses were talking.

“You did this, huh?” he said, motioning his hands to the decoration. A grin appeared on his lips.

“Yep, but as soon as I heard, I sent other people home,” the old man replied.

“And you? Why are you still here?” he inquired nonchalantly.

“To console my only grandson. I thought you might be crying by now,” he teased him casually.

The drinks arrived and the two continued with their conversation while Hawkins prepared some snacks for them.

Tyler took the first drink and chugged it all the way.

“You’re funny. Why would I cry for that b–”

But he cut him off instead, “Oh shut the fuck up! You don’t have to act high and mighty on me. I know you, son! And I know how precious that blonde barbie is to you,” his grandfather continued to tease him.

“Was, grandpa! Was!” Tyler couldn’t help but feel the pain caused by Isabella.

“I want to know what exactly happened,” demanded his grandfather. He raised his glass and called Hawkins, “Second, boy.”

“Are we really doing this? You really waited for God-knows-how long just to hear the humiliation your grandson had been through?” he complained and lashed out his disappointment from his action.

“Wouldn’t miss a thing son, wouldn’t miss!” and he gave him an intimidating look.

He knew how tenacious his grandfather could be. He got to get what he wanted, all the time. That’s why he became a chairman and was able to build an empire. So he gave in and started with a deep sigh,

  “I was waiting…”

(THE PROPOSAL - PALMS CASINO RESORT)

Hawkins was busy instructing the staff at the fine-dine hotel where the proposal would happen any moment.

At the same time, he made sure everything was perfect in every way, for he knew how meticulous his boss is. And besides, this affair tonight would be the most special night for his boss.

“I am telling you, its value is more significant than those million-dollar contracts, you understand? Make no room for mistake,” he reminded all the people involved in this million-worth proposal.

A fine-dine restaurant located on the highest floor of Tower A–just below the rooftop–is known for its exquisite and breathtaking night view. The gigantic glass window allows every customer to enjoy the LED light display from Tower B, the city lights and the fireworks display every Friday night.

But tonight, it will be extra special. Instead of accommodating at least thirty people in the glass window area, it was extravagantly decorated for two people alone.

The circular glass table that has the diamond effect, partnered with the semi-arch single couch with black leather soft cushion completed the vibe for the special night.

Instead of real flowers, petal-like ceiling glass decorations completed the romantic ambiance for the night.

A thirteen-list of sumptuous and exquisite courses is already in line for the couple to have.

Even the LED display made for this night is bound to flash at exactly 10 in the evening. And once the woman said yes, at 10:05, the fireworks display lit up the night sky celebrating the new chapter they are about to face.

Now, only the couple is missing.

A perfect plan, a grandeur proposal, a gesture of sincere affection, but who would have thought that everything they had hoped for will just go down the drain with a single word, “No!”

The couple entered like royalties parading around Buckingham Palace. Their outstanding beauty transcended up to the farthest corners of the whole fine-dine area.

Necks elongated as eyes almost gouged out trying to get a glimpse of this hot couple, a hot Billionaire CEO and an A-list movie theater actress.

The night started perfectly, with courses and booze until…

At the right moment, Tyler Schneider, knelt on his right knee, holding the hand of the prettiest woman in front of him,

“Isabella Winter, will you marry me?” At the same time he asked about the highlight of tonight’s event, the LED Display of “My darling, Isabella, will you marry me?” on Tower B was seen.
