Chapter Five

Cyn.

I tried to quiet the pounding of my pulse. I looked at the couples on the dance floor, their bodies entwined as they moved in a rhythm that seemed far too…sexual to simply call it dancing.

Ace trained his bright white smile on me, but this smile was different than any other he had given me before. It was almost predatory. He extended his hand.

“Dance with me.”

Not a question, a command. And for some reason a thrill ran through me rather than the anger that I had expected, needed. Something about him was breaching my defenses, softening me to him. He was surprising me. He wasn’t just a shallow playboy, and I had been much more comfortable with him when si had been able to just write him off as such.

I accepted his offered hand, hoping he didn’t notice that my own was damp with perspiration, and allowed him to lead me onto the dance floor. Not smart. My practical inner voice was all but screaming at me not to do it, I had two left feet.

Necessary, i countered, ignoring the churning pleasure in my stomach when he took me in his arms and brought me close to the heat of his body. Dancing with my husband was necessary. It wasn’t about anything but keeping my end of the bargain

The music was sultry, captivating, and I found myself swaying in time to the rhythm. One of his hands held onto mine, the other was low on my back, holding me to him, bringing my breasts into contact with his hard muscled chest. My nipples tightened, ached. It was so unfamiliar, so unexpected, and no matter how much i wanted to, I couldn’t hate it.

I couldn’t even muster up a faint dislike for it.

My heart was pounding and i was certain he must be able to feel it.

Certain he would be able to see the fluttering pulse that i could feel moving at the base of my throat.

Marrying a stranger didn’t frighten me. Standing up in front of family and friends making vows i wasn’t going to keep didn’t bother me in the least. But this man holding me like his wife scared the hell out of me.

I gripped his broad shoulders more fiercely in an instinctive effort to keep my knees from buckling beneath me. I regretted that instinct almost immediately.

He chuckled low, his hot breath fanning across my cheek, his grasp. becoming stronger. Everything in me suddenly wanted to lean into him, kiss him again, to feel his mouth, hot, hard and insistent on mine.

I pulled away from him, my breathing labored, my body sluggish from unfamiliar desire. He looked amused. It was infuriating. Even worse that he knew exactly how he had affected me.

“Why did you pull away from it, Cyn?” he asked, his dark eyes. compelling. Tempting.

“From what?” Playing ignorant was pointless, and i knew it, but pride and a desperate need to gain some sort of control pushed me to try anyway.

“From this.” He hooked his arm around my waist and drew me to him, tilting his hips so that i could feel the length of his hardened arousal.

I drew in a shaky breath. “Because I don’t feel the same way.”

He chuckled. “This isn’t about feelings. This is about lust. Want. Need. And you do feel it.” He stroked a thumb across my hot cheek. “It is written all over your pretty face.”

And just like that he was back in the slot I had placed him in at our first meeting. It was a relief. But it didn’t cause my own arousal to lessen.

My breasts felt heavy, sensitive, and i felt an embarrassing slickness well up between my thighs. I didn’t have to be an expert on sex to know that my body was getting ready to experience it.

Too bad.

"Whats wrong?" he suddenly said getting me out of my random thoughts in my head.

"Nothing."

He laughed softly, mocking me a little bit.

"Your face is white Cyn."

"Maybe I should call it a night." i said walking back to the bar where I had left my bag, "You don't have to come with me, but I would like to go home now."

"Ofcourse, it would be rude of me to leave my own party." he said as he pulled up his phone and started typing something.

"Plus you need your beauty sleep for tomorrow."

"Why? What's tommorrow?" I asked confused.

"Tommorrow, my little princess is your wedding."he said with a huge smirk in his face.

" Wedding? What wedding?"

"you know, when you put on a white long dress and say I do to me."

"I know what a wedding is Ace."

"I wasn't sure."

I could either answer to his sarcasm or find out about this wedding I had no I idea about.

"But we are already married, remember?"

"We are, but I know it's every girls dream to have a wedding and vogue also wants to do an issue on me getting married so I need good quality wedding photos."

I was about to protest, when he abruptly took my hand and started leading me outside.

The limo had already pulled up to take me home.

" The next time I will see you, will be at the wedding." he said before he left a small soft kiss on my cheeks and closed the limo door.
