I stood at my reflection in the mirror. I'm pretty, no doubt. I just hope I look perfect for Lucas.

I put on the dress Yolanda had bought for me. I took the silver purse matching the shoe and clicked my way out of the room.

"Trying to escape? Huh? Have you forgotten that today is your engagement?" She asked, catching me off guard.

"Um! Mom, I'm going to the Sullivans okay? Chris is waiting for me outside." I lied.

"Oh! Wow! Have both of you made up already? That's lovely! Besides, your dress looks beautiful." She smiled, engulfing me in a tight hug.

"Erm… thanks mom. As for the dress, all thanks to Yolanda." I said hurriedly.

"Yeah. I never told you she was a fashion goddess." She giggled.

"Mom, if you don't mind, I have to go now. Lucas.. errm… Chris is waiting for me outside."

"It's okay. Make sure you both get there in time, okay?" She said with a small smile that vanished immediately after I left.
