CHAPTER THREE

Christine couldn’t believe her eyes, she had to pinch her arm to check if she was dreaming or not.

She was standing in front of Logan Grayson, the drop-dead gorgeous CEO of Grayson Enterprises. One of the richest men in the world.

Logan Grayson was the owner of a chain of hotels around the world. He had inherited it from his father, Edward Grayson, clearly old money, but the company became more exposed and made more revenue under his leadership.

He had won numerous awards for his philanthropy and business deals, He was consistently named under Time’s 100 most influential person and once graced Tatler’s magazine as the world most eligible bachelor.

Christine felt the pictures she had seen of him on the newspapers or the internet, didn’t do him enough justice. He was more good looking and hotter in person and his voice made her body shiver with every word he uttered. It was raspy and sexy with a British accent that reminded her of her favorite Tv show, Bridgerton.

“With the way you’re staring at me, I’m sure you know who I am” Logan said, his eyes fixed on Christine.

He wasn’t new to this, in fact he got this treatment from a lot of people everyday. The star-struck eyes and the watery mouth look. He knew he was handsome, his wealth and fame also made it easier for people to identify him.

But Logan couldn’t stop looking at Christine for obvious reasons. The petite blonde was certainly been blessed with her share of beauty. Her plump pink lips and her pair of hazel-green eyes seemed to pierce his soul.

He tried so hard to avoid eyeing her cleavage. Why did she have to wear such tight clothes that revealed her soft curves, Logan thought swallowing hard.

She was beautiful and entirely different from the women he always found himself mingling with. He was mostly surrounded by women who were shallow and had plastic surgery-altered faces, thickly caked with makeup. But Christine’s natural looks and simple style aroused him in ways he couldn’t comprehend.

“Yes,” Christine replied, “You’re Logan Grayson, your face has been splattered on every tabloid, it will be so hard to miss you.

Christine knew who Logan was, or at least from the information she had read from various news outlets.

Logan Grayson was a glorified playboy. He changed women faster than he changed his clothes. He dated A-list celebrities ranging from actresses, musicians to models and could never last more than a month in a relationship.

That was until he fell in love and married a Victoria Secret model, Jessica Miller, but she died giving birth to their daughter, Alexis.

After a few years, Logan got back to his former ways of switching woman and uncommitted relationships.

Logan threw his head back and chuckled lightly. He hardly laughed, but here he was grinning because of Christine. It was as if she had a control on him.

“Don’t believe everything they say about me,” he quickly added. He knew how the media portrayed him

He knew how the media portrayed him to be, a player, a man without any commitment towards anyone.

It wasn’t as if it was wrong or anything, he just wished people would stop assuming things about him.

Christine was about to talk when a little girl ran into the living room and hugged Logan’s leg.

It was Alexis, his daughter with Jessica Miller.

She was a beautiful little girl. Her blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail and her green-blue eyes sparkled like emeralds. She was wearing a bright blue dress which showed off her fair skin and a pretty bow sat on top of her curly hair.

Alexis looked exactly like Logan. The resemblance was uncanny; both had the same face structure and features.

The sight of Alexis was a reminder of why Christine was here today. She was sure Alexis was the child she was supposed to look after.

Daddy, Daddy!!!” she yelled wrapping her tiny hands around his leg tight, “Aren’t you going to play with me?”

“Lexi,” Logan replied, he crouched down and ruffled her short black hair before tickling her lightly. Alexis laughed pushing his hands away.

“I’m sorry princess, but Daddy has to go to work now,” Logan added “But I brought a friend.”

He gestured towards Christine, who stood there admiring the doting father and his adorable 5-years old.

“I don’t want any more nannies,” Alexis frowned, wrinkling her nose. She was clearly annoyed that her father had brought another person to look after.

Alexis was tired of the different nannies she had. They were changed every month. Mostly because she was overbearing and never gave them the time of the day. Deep down all she wanted was to spend more time with her father not another woman who would one day walk out of her life.

“Hey Alexis,” Christine chipped in, bending a little so she can be on the same level with Alexis “I can play with you. Don’t you want to be my friend?”

“No!!!” the little girl screamed, crossing her arms and she shaking her head. “I want to play with my daddy.”

“Okay, But if you play with your daddy, you won’t learn my magic trick,” Christine shrugged, before pulling out a coin from the back of Alexis’s right ear.

“Tada!!!” Christine exclaimed.

Alexis eyes went wide with shock, her jaw dropping in amusement.

“How did you do that?” she asked taking the coin from Christine’s palm. She stared at it trying to understand the trick Christine just did.

“Magic!!!!,” Christine winked “I can teach you if you let me”.

“What are you waiting for?” Alexis beamed in delight while she dragging Christine’s wrist as she ran towards the stairs. “Let’s go to my room.”

From the corner of her eyes, Christine could see Logan smiling at her before he stepped out the front door. She knew she had gotten the job. She was going to be working for Logan Grayson.
