Lisa sat still at the back of the moving vehicle, wondering what next step to take. She couldn’t boast of having any friend she could turn to in the entire city. Instead, she had more enemies. The thought of that made her chuckle. She dreaded going to another hotel too.

Either way, it wouldn’t take long before Raymond caught up with her. It wasn’t such a bad thing but she couldn’t get rid of the bad feeling she had in her stomach. The Norths were used to having their way even when things didn’t go as planned for them and she didn’t want to be their next scapegoat either.

She couldn’t continue roaming around the streets. Even Will needed to go home. She sighed, forcing the words she didn’t want to say out of her mouth. “Can you find me a place I can spend the night?” She swallowed. “Or you can help me find somewhere safe to park the car. I can spend the night in here.”

She doubted that. Who knew if Raymond had her car tracked? What if he decided to vent out his anger by hitting her?
