Chapter 8:- A friend to talk to!

3rd person's pov

With his heart filled with rage, Lucas had fled the house. For him, Celine wasn't making things simple. She was unable to respond to the query on their love's emblem.

Celine pondered what Lucas had said earlier as she waited anxiously for her breakfast at the dining table.

She seemed disturbed and quickly pondered. What about not having children is actually bad? Symbol of our Love?

The maid interrupted her train of thought by saying, “Here is your food, ma.” Celine raised an eyebrow at the plate of food that contained chicken, vegetables, and sweet rice.

She received her food from the maid, who also filled the glass cup with water. “You may leave,” Celine remarked.

As if she had been expecting someone, she stood and looked out of the window.

She sighed, walked back to the table. Her hand found the phone and dialled a number on it.

“When are you going to get here? I'm going to eat soon!”

The moment the call was picked on the other end, she uttered.

“I’ll be there shortly, girlfriend, I promise. In two to three minutes, I will arrive at your door.”

“All right, move quickly here. I want to provide you with some gist.”

With that she hung up, and placed her phone back to the table, at the same time picking up an apple from the bowl. Her mind went straight to Lucas' threatening words.

"I pray you won't regret this action of yours!"

“By the time you'd regret and you come back begging, I won't accept you back.” His voice echoed in her head and she grunted inwardly.

“Can Lucas do something that I might regret in the future?”

“No..He is just joking, he really loves me.” She sighed, pondering over the issue once again. She couldn't understand why her mind couldn't get over his threat.

“But I don't want a child yet! I'm not ready!” She yelled and ruffled her hair furiously.

Celine heard a knock at the door, she strode over to answer it. As soon as she flung open the door, a familiar figure entered.

“Linda!” Celine's expression brightened, and she walked her inside right away, closing the door behind her.

“Oh! Wow!” She looked at the baby stroller with the sleeping infant inside and said, “You brought this little cutie.” Sh gushed.

Linda grinned and said, “Sure, I can't leave him with the maids. If my hubby learned about that, he would definitely kill me.”

They started laughing when she sighed.

She enveloped Celine into a very tight and passionate hug. “How are you doing, girlfriend?”

Celine hit her arms playfully while blushing. “I'm good. How are you faring as well?” She asked.

As they both moved towards the dining table, Celine's hand found its way to her blonde hair and gently caressed it.

“As you can see, baby, I'm fine.”

She happily took her seat as Celine signaled for her to do so. "Is there anyone there?" She called, attempting to catch the maid's attention.

A maid rushed forward and said "Good day Mrs. Walker" and then lowered her head, but Linda didn't say anything, just a nod, accompanied with a smile.

After turning to face Celine, she said, “You called for me earlier ma'am."” In response, Celine nodded.

“I did, yes,”

“Take the baby with you and make sure he doesn't suffer any harm.” Linda mumbled a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ as she handed the baby over to the maid.

Linda raised her voice after the maid had vanished into a place that only God knows. “What are you saying on the phone?” she asked, feeling very much curious.

Celine breathed out loud. “Won't you let us have something to eat first?” As she set the food in front of her, Celine said.

Linda grinned and said, “Oh really!”

About thirty minutes have passed, and you could hear the cutlery clattering on the plates.

Linda set down her cutlery, sighing and furrowing her brows. “I want to know! What occurred yesterday because I'm sure the whole scheme would have gone awry?”

Celine laughed, a smile spreading across her face. “You wished,”

“For you to say something like that! You might have believed that something was seriously wrong. Sorry to burst your bubbles, but everything went exactly as planned, and Lucas had agreed to wait for another good five years before starting a family.”

After wiping her lips with a tissue, Celine got to her feet and headed into the living room.

Linda gasped in shock and bewilderment as she beheld Celine's receding figure in front of her.

She took a magnificent look, picked up the tissue, and used it to wipe her mouth. “Celine, what do you mean by that?” While she was chasing after her, Linda stated.

“I have him wrapped up in my hands; he will do as I command,” She tapped her palms repeatedly, "He is nothing but just a fool!" She chuckled, picking up the TV's remote.

Linda sat next to her on the couch and quickly blinked her eyes. She had absolutely no expectation of this.

“Huh? Isn't your husband, Lu…” She was prevented from finishing her sentence because Celine cut her off.

“C'mon! He is just that.” Linda exhibited increased surprise and was speechless.

“All right, describe what happened yesterday for me.”

“Tina, Lucas doesn't bed the girl.” She said, after dropping the remote back to the centered-table.

A little astonished, Linda exclaimed, “WTF!? I know you don't mean it.”

“How in the name of hell did he possibly resist her damn beauty?”

“That is the reason I contacted you; I haven't been able to shake the thought out of my head since last night.” Linda stared at her as she grabbed hold of her head.

“I need a friend to talk to, Celine!”

“I need someone to talk to!” She sighed, placing her head on the couch.

Linda looked worried, “Here I am! Tell me your problems, Celine?" She asked, pulling some strands of hair behind her.
