Chapter Thirty One - Laura
I rushed into the bathroom and was horrified by my reflection. My hair was wild, and my face was red as a tomato. What made my anxiety worse was that I wasn't wearing the clothes I had on last night. What happened to my dress? Did Zion change it? I shook my head, knowing he wouldn't do that. But who changed my clothes, and why can't I remember what happened after Antonio and I left the party last night?I remember drinking that sweet apple-flavored drink and dancing with Andre in the dark. I also remember vomiting on him, which I feel terrible about, but I'm too embarrassed to call him and apologize. After that, my memory gets hazy. I vaguely recall Antonio helping me to the bathroom to clean up, as I was too dizzy to walk properly. But I don't remember what happened next. Did I do anything strange around Zion? I groaned and smacked my already reddened face, letting my neck fall limp in front of the bathroom mirror. I keep embarrassing myself in front of Zion the

Chapter Thirty Two - Laura
We stood in front of a pet store with Zion eyeing the building with disdain. I finally agreed to go out with him and it still sounded weird to my ears but yes I did and I was astonished when he asked me to choose the place I wished to go and guess what I chose first - the pet store. The reason I chose it was because I miss Good-Good. Zion had prohibited the worker from allowing it to walk around the villa and also because I have this feeling that he has this fear for dogs and I feel this urge to change that. I remember his expression changed immediately I mentioned the pet store and I was going to change it but then he surprised me when he agreed to go with me and here we are, standing outside the building.Zion dragged his eyes away from the building and turned his gaze to mine, "Are you sure you want to go in there? You could get infected with rabies or what knows" I raised an eyebrow at him, "I'm 100% sure I want to go in there, and trust me they are

Chapter Thirty Three - Laura
"You cheated" I argued stubbornly for the third time since we left the paintball house. It was a thrilling experience that would have ended in a victory if only he hadn't decided to hit me. Why would he even do that"It was a game Laura, I was only protecting my territory" he explained as we walked towards a restaurant. We decided to stop for a late lunch since we've been parading all around with just the chicken soup in our stomach. Especially when the last stop took all the food in our stomachI scoffed, "You killed me for a fucking flag".He chuckled and shake his head as he open the restaurant door for me, "I didn't in the real world, it was a game and you would have done the same. Am I right?"Well, he is right. I was itching to eliminate him but I wouldn't admit that to him."Whatever" I mumbled stubbornly, stepping into the restaurant. The aroma of fresh sea foods filled my nostrils, pushing my anger to the back of my head. My stomach grumbled and I bounce on my feet in exciteme

Chapter Thirty Four - Laura
"It was just a joke," Zion said beside me as we strolled down the street with the evening breeze tousling our hair. Earlier, after we left the restaurant, he asked where we should go next, but I wasn't in the mood to decide, so I suggested we just walk. Across the road, Antonio trailed behind us, patiently keeping pace with our leisurely walk as he navigated the car through the traffic.I glance up at him, pulling my hair from entering my mouth, "What? He cleared his throat, stuffing his hands into his pocket. "It was a joke. You didn't kiss me" "What? Why.." I asked, confused, pushing my hair from my face as the wind blew it into my face again. Why is it so damn windy today and why did he say I kissed him when I didn't. Was that supposed to be a joke? "I'm sorry. I didn't expect it to turn out that way," he apologized, his gaze turning hard as he looked ahead with the wind blowing his short strand. However, I didn't reply to him. It wasn't his fault. It was a joke that I took seri

Chapter Thirty Five - Laura
As I woke up, my eyes fluttered open and adjusted to the soft light that was penetrating the room through the curtains. I stood up from my bed, stretching and groaning, and then realized that Zion hadn't slept in our room the previous night. I waited until late in the night for him but heard the other room door open, which meant that he had decided to sleep there instead. But what happened? We were doing well yesterday and had a great time until the puppy incident occurred. I thought it would be okay to ask about it since we had visited the pet store and he even seemed happy when I was playing with the puppy. However, I didn't understand the sudden change and anger when I asked him. Perhaps I shouldn't have asked him about it. I'll apologize to him later then. After completing my morning routine, I walked into the sitting room of the villa. No workers were scurrying around and the place looked deserted. I was used to the soft pitter-patter noise of their footsteps. As I entered the

Chapter Thirty Six - Zion
The doorbell rang, suddenly interrupting my thoughts, and causing me to frown. I wondered who it could be since neither Antonio nor the staff usually use the doorbell. Suddenly, it dawned on me and I felt my body tense with anger. It must be Laura's useless friend. The doorbell rang again and I turned to stare at the stairs. Why isn't she coming down to open the door for her dear friend? I can't believe this guy dared to ask to come over. I'm pretty sure he knows that she's engaged, or did she forget to mention it to him? No, she definitely would've told him. He's just trying to keep chasing after something that will never be his. His nerves really surprised me.The doorbell rang for the third time and I decided I'd heard enough. He can't just come here, disturbing my peace with the annoying sound.I calmly took my time to walk to the door and pick up the phone"Yes?" I asked in a bored tone"Oh, Hi. I'm Andre, Laura's friend" he breathed into the communicator and I scoffed. He said L

Chapter Thirty Seven - Laura
Andre's behavior has been making me feel uncomfortable. He's been excessively touchy and making jokes that aren't funny. I've been trying to laugh along to ease the tension, by exaggeratedly laughing at his jokesI also noticed the look he shared with Zion. Is something up between them? I wanted to ask him but it isn't necessary as long as all is good. I'm just not comfortable with him touching me like that and who knows Zion could be somewhere watching just like he made Antonio watch me every time I go out. Something I secretly love because it makes me feel safe. Weird right?I turned my head to see if I would catch a glimpse of Zion but Andre's hand on my knee startled me and I snapped my head back to him."Let's go to the poolside," he said with a smileI raise my brow, "How do you know there's a pool at the back?" I asked. He scoffed, "Come on Laura, which villa doesn't have a pool" "Yeah right," I nod. He is right. I should hav

Chapter Thirty Eight - Zion
My blood boiled as I watched the stupid guy wrap his hand around her waist, pulling her to his chest. Her eyes widened so my veins popped out in anger. I was about to move forward and hit him badly when Laura twisted around in his arms and delivered a slap. I stood shocked and proud as the guy's eyes widened staring down at Laura whose chest was rising and falling. My eyes lingered on her chest where her dampened clothes clung to, shaping out her curves and then down to her body Another type of anger coursed through me as I examined her wet body, exposing her shape. I can't believe she allowed such audacity from another man. I can't believe she's comfortable flaunting her body in another man's presence. I feel cheated. It feels like she's cheating on me and I don't like it"I don't know what is going on between you too. But I want you to leave this instance." She said as she stood there, drenched, avoiding eye contact as water trickled down her hair

A gasp left my lips as his lips moved sensually on mine, sending my emotions array, and he used the opportunity of my parted lips to delve his tongue into my mouth, teasing all the corners. A wave of deliciousness rushed down my body and I shivered, instinctively pushing myself closer to his hard body. He groaned and deepened the kiss, his hand holding the back of my head, pulling me impossibly closer, and I moaned, as my blossom pressed into his hard chest Then it clicksZion is kissing me.I pushed him away forcefully. His lips left mine roughly, letting the breeze tingle my exposed lips. My chest heaved as I avoided meeting his gaze by looking at the ground. What just happened? Why is he suddenly kissing me? I can't believe I let him kiss him, not to talk of me enjoying it. For fuck sake I moaned. For the same man who just insulted me a while ago. I staggered backwardHe tried to pull me in for probably another kiss but I w

Chapter Forty - Laura
“Ouch!" Zion groaned, flinching from my touch. We are currently in the living room. He was sitting on the couch while I knelt in front of him, carefully cleaning his wound with disinfectant. My face heated up at our proximity and I mumbled shyly, "I'm sorry," leaning forward to get a clearer view of his cut as his breath fanned my face. There is a deep cut on his forehead, just below his hairline. The plate had shattered on his tough head, tearing into his skin. I winced as he flinched when I applied a cotton ball dipped in a disinfectant to clean the wound. I can't imagine the pain he is in right now although he tries to maintain his composure. You can tell it hurts as his eyes keep twitching every time I dab the wound. I must have hit him hard with the plate for the wound to be this deep and although it doesn't need a stitch and might leave a scar which I pray it doesn't, however, I am still amazed he didn't have a concussion from the impact.
