Shay's POV I woke up in the morning by the sound of rain falling heavily outside. With the weather like this, I was feeling uncertain to meet with Jason's mom today but when I checked my phone, she said to still come over because she wanted to see me before she leaves town this evening. I did my usual morning routine and then got dressed before going downstairs for breakfast. I was informed by one of the maids after I sat at the table that my parents had already ate breakfast and they left to attend a business meeting together. I felt happy after knowing that, at least now I can have my breakfast in peace. After having my breakfast, I got into my car and drove to town.  ~1 WEEK LATER~ Shay's POV Bad things always happen, people try to forget and move on and that's actually what I kept reminding myself when Monday finally comes around. Since it's my first day at work, I decided to try a new change. My mom called her team of hairdressers and makeup artists to be here early in the morning and they did a whole makeover to me. Since my hair is naturally straight and long, they trimmed it right up to my shoulders and curled it. I told them to change my makeup to something darker to emphasize boldness and by the time they were done, I barely recognized myself and that was a good thing. I wore my new outfit that I bought the other day, which was a black pencil skirt and a light thin strap top along with a black long blazer.

 Jason's POV It was already past five thirty in the afternoon that I finally decided to escape from my office to get some fresh air outside. My employees had already retired for the day and Sylvia was the last one to leave and I'm now the only one still wandering at work. Before she left, I asked her to get me two bottles of Corona and to call Chase to come see me at the company. I took the two bottles of beer with me to the rooftop and I just stared at the city below me while drinking one bottle and keeping the other one for Chase. I waited and watched till the sun starts to set and the city started to get enveloped by darkness and multiple lights start to light up everywhere. The lights around the rooftop starts to turn on as well, probably done by one of the security guards on duty downstairs in the lobby. 

Shay's POV Along the drive to work, I plugged in one of my air pods and dialed the number of a very important client from China, that I was closely acquainted with during his last business trip here to San Francisco. I figured if was going to handle our products in other international countries as well, then starting in our closest foreign branch is the first step. He answered the call a minute later and I quickly started small talk, just asking how he was doing and making sure he still remembers the good time he had spent in San Francisco thanks to my help. He was a client of my father and since I was the only one in the family that speaks fluent Chinese, dad wanted me to stay close to him and showed him around the city and help him out with anything since he was still working on his English. 

 Shay's POV The meeting with our client took longer than I had expected, we finally left that restaurant nearly half past five in the afternoon and because we had finally succeed in making him work with us and also feel a bit exhausted, we decided to head to a bar to celebrate our first successful meeting together. Chase ordered a whiskey on the rocks and I ordered a bloody Mary instead, we clinked our glasses together and slowly sipped our drinks in comfortable silence. I suddenly remembered about Sylvia, and now that Chase is here and we're both not at work right now, might as well invite her to come so we all hang out together and I can finally introduce them to each other. Although she might not like it but it's still worth a shot. I grabbed my phone from my purse and browsed through my contact list for her number.
