Chapter 51
Sofia's POV. I gazed out of the window and smiled a bit. It was a beautiful scene outside. I guessed that the window was the best spot to have a great view of the forest and to my surprise it had snowed during the night. I wasn't expecting the sudden change of weather but it was snowing, anyways the season was close to winter therefore I wasn't too surprised. The snow on the trees was beautiful, it made the forest a more wonderful place to be in and I couldn't wait to have the chance to shift again but that would be in a while because today I was travelling with Alpha Jose. I retracted my hand from outside the window and there was melted snow dripping down my hand. I tightened my blanket around myself and sighed. Today was my trip with that perverted man but it was my opportunity to not only get closer to him but make alliances. I couldn't do this alone, the little information I had against him wasn't enough to bring him down. I need more information and enemies of his on my si

Sofia POV. I knew this trip was the worst adventure I would ever have but going with Martinez was like a death sentence. That was how much I detested him. "Why do I have to go with him and what place is so important that Alpha Jose has to deny his company with me?" I yelled in exasperation. "You are his personal assistant and your duty is to represent him and I doubt that it's sensible for you to go alone without any form of protection from a male, we don't trust our guards but Martinez seems trustworthy" Delta Charlse stated, seriously. I was confused by everything that was occurring. It made me really suspicious of the purpose of this trip and why Alpha Jose suddenly changed his mind. It made no sense to me. "This is almost the most insane thing that I have ever heard, you know that Martinez and I don't get along well, what if he kills me?" I questioned in fury. Delta chuckled at my exaggeration. “We all know as well that Martinez would do no such thing. He might act like bad p

Sofia's POV. My eyes widened in terror as Delta Charles spoke those words. "You mean he agreed to travel with me?" I asked to confirm if I heard him right or not."Yes, he agreed without any hesitation or opposition" Delta Charles replied and I was stunned. I didn't wait for him to say another word but simply slammed the door in his face. I turned and swallowed hard. This meant that I would be travelling with Martinez alone. My heart began thumping at the thought of having him too close again. "This isn't good, I sincerely don't like the sound of this" I said to myself and paced around my room. What must have been so urgent for Alpha Jose to permit me to be with Martinez?. I thought he wanted me; I thought for a while and finally realised that he understood that Martinez and I hated each other, so there would be no problem in keeping each other company. Well, he was wrong because I had a lot of problems with it. I had always been uncomfortable around him except the day I got i

Martinez's POV. It was extremely cold here, my body was freezing and probably paralyzed because I could hardly move. I was conscious of everything around me but my body was unwilling to obey any of my commands. It was like the time with the strange person in a black cloak. I was conscious of my cold environment but everything was dark. I spoke to my wolf inwardly and asked him to assist me in opening my eyes or my body. Involved in the internal conversation again, my body began responding to my commands and even though my lips stretched into a little but painful smile. I slowly opened my formerly glued eyes and It was blurry at first but I blinked and the water which clouded my eyes dropped. All I saw was the clear blue sky, it wasn't snowing anymore. I sighed and struggled to sit straight and I succeeded with much effort. I gasped and looked around the snowy ground. I was blank for a while but the memories of the accident replayed in my mind and I was stunned. "Sofia" I let o

Martinez's POVI was alerted to her statement. I won't say I was actually scared, maybe I am scared. I mean why would she make such a statement? Does she know me? Or is there in any way we have met before. She chuckled and I wondered why she was laughing at me. "Oh my goodness! You should look at your face." I blurted out.I think she was actually finding this funny. I forced myself to smile so she wouldn't notice how scared I was."Please don't tell me you were scared." She said, covering her mouth with one hand as she tried to hold herself from laughing out loud."I'm sorry, but if you don't mind me asking," she added with a pretty smile on her lips."What did you think I mean when I said that?" She asked and I nodded my head."When you said 'I have finally found my prey' you kinda sounded weird." I admitted. "Are you in for a hint or something? And by the way, why were you so curious to know what I am?" I asked, letting of the lot of questions in my head as i couldn't hold it back

Martinez's POVMy protective nature flared up when Lewis dared to compliment Sofia, causing a storm of anger to brew within him. I believe that i alone should be the one showering her with admiration and appreciation, and the audacity of Lewis to encroach her in his territory fueled my fury. The words Lewis spoke, intended as innocent flattery, stung me to the core, awakening a possessiveness i hadn't known existed."What do you mean by that?" I flared up, his eyes holding jealousy and anger."What about it? When has it become a crime to admit what's good? Whether or not you have anything to do with your pretty lovely friend, had nothing to do with how much I admire her. So, if you've got a problem with it, go kiss the ground." Lewis said."You can't walk in here and say things because you've got the mouth to say them!" I said in reply."That's exactly why I've got the mouth. To say things that ought to be said. Got a problem with that too?" Lewis asked me."You know what, mind your

Martinez's POV. I stared at her in shock. I blinked at her but she kept gazing blankly at me. I burst into laughter and held her hands. "I know you are joking right, Sofia?" I questioned with a shaky smile on my lips. She still had the same look of ignorance on her face, she truly didn't know me or was she playing a trick on me. I knew that Sofia was not a person who would play games or act unnecessarily. She slowly adjusted herself and looked around the room. "You really don't know me?" I asked and she shook her head. "No, who are you?" Sofia questioned with the calmest tone I had ever heard from her. Her voice was a bit hoarse from not talking for a while."What pack are you from" She thought for a while and nodded negatively. “I don't… "This was more shocking than anything that I had ever seen. I heard of situations like this, but it had never occurred to anyone to stand around. I placed my hand on the side of her face and caressed cheek, she gave no reaction to anything

Martinez's POV"You are so warm" She smiled and I pushed her off me. "Ah!" Sofia groaned as she landed on the floor. "You can sleep on the couch while I sleep on the bed," I yelled but my eyes met her gaze. She looked hurt and her eyes welled up in tears. I regretted speaking to her in such a manner but I could not reverse my words. "I'm sorry" Her voice quivered and went back to the couch. It was shocking to hear her say she was sorry. That was one word I never expected to hear from Sofia. She laid on the couch and covered herself with her blanket. I sighed and laid back as well. I closed my eyes but the hurt expression on her face kept haunting me. I woke up the next morning to find Sofia curled up next to me in bed. My initial reaction was one of shock and confusion. What was she doing here? Last night, I pushed her away, telling her to sleep on the couch. But somehow, she ended up back by my side."Get up!" I shouted, pushing her away with a mix of frustration and bafflemen

Martinez's POV. "Sofia!" I screamed out of my sleep and sat straight. I looked around and I was still in my room, it was simply a nightmare. One that honestly scared me, I looked by my side and Sofia was not beside me. That exact fear gripped me and I clambered down from the bed. "Sofia!" I called and she came out of the bathroom. "Martinez" She said while standing by the door. I suddenly became angry and annoyed but decided to hold back. She ran away in my nightmare and committed suicide, I didn't want to make her more exasperated than she already felt. "I simply woke up to pee," Sofia said in a soft tone. "You shouldn't leave the bed like that without talking or saying a word about your whereabouts" I reprimanded her. I knew that my anger was not justified because she had practically done nothing to offend me. "Did I do anything wrong?" Sofia questioned with a cracked voice. “I only–"" I have heard enough from you, I want to sleep in peace" I hissed and laid back on the be

Martinez's POV. I grasped her hands and tugged them off my body. I was feeling uncomfortable with how my heart just reacted. I believed that it was caused by the cold or maybe I might be sick or down with health issues. My hand involuntarily went to my chest side and I rubbed it slowly before facing her. "Is there something wrong?" Sofia asked and touched my chest and my heart palpitated. "Can you stop touching me already?" I snapped at her and frowned angrily. "My hands are not dirty, so I have all the right to touch you and anyways you are my savior, Freya told me how you found and saved me" Sofia giggled. “So, no matter what you say; I would always remain grateful to you” 'that loudmouth' I thought about Freya and rolled my eyes in annoyance. There were things I had told her to avoid telling Sofia about. For instance, the rejection incident between the both of us had been hidden from her and also the duel to death had been eluded from our little stories about her past. She
