Chapter Ten: Old Friends and an Orphanage
Imogen was absently sketching a mountain landscape in colored pencils while singing under breath when she heard a knock on the door of her office. It was a lovely space decorated in a feminine, modern and minimalist style with a glass wall facing the rest of the office as well as floor-to-ceiling windows. She decorated the room in cream with splashes of lilac and blue. There were always fresh flowers like roses or hydrangeas in the vases, thanks to Kieran.  As the Head of Marketing of her mother's successful toy company, she was usually swamped with back to back meetings. The last Friday of the afternoon was always hectic and busy. She didn't find it unusual when she found out that her schedule for this afternoon was empty. It was usually packed to the gills but it was not completely out of the ordinary.

Chapter Eleven: Dinner with the Laguardias
"There it is," Imogen said excitedly as Kieran parked his Audi Q4 in front of a quaint, little house that was painted in yellow with white trimmings and a tall red gate.  It was a modest residence that could house a small family comfortably. Even though they were standing outside, they could feel the cozy aura that was emanating from the property through the lacy white curtains.  Kieran noticed that she was smiling even more brightly. His heart softened and he wished that he could also live in a modest house that had white curtains and yellow paint with Imogen.  "This is where my best friend and her family lives." Imogen told him, smiling. He watched her skip like a girl towards the doorbell and then pressed it eagerly. "It's only fair to introduce you

Chapter Twelve: The Invitation
A few days later, Imogen’s life was turned upside down again. She should have expected the invitation to come sooner.  It was only a few days after her impromptu date with Kieran at the orphanage when she received the nuptial invitation. Yaya Marie looked both angry and apologetic when she handed her the mail as her beloved ward sat down to breakfast with her mother in the formal dining room that Sunday in their mansion at Forbes Park. Imogen wanted to scream because she didn't want to look at it. Grace under pressure, she muttered to herself. I must be graceful if they are vulgar. The young heiress took a deep breath and looked down again at the elegant cream-colored

Chapter Thirteen: A Binding Contract
Fernando stayed behind at the restaurant for coffee and dessert. He allowed his son to leave before him because he had to return to the office. As a retired businessman, he had nothing left to do but oversee the company as a board member and play golf. He knew that Kieran was doing a fantastic job in managing their companies and businesses. His two older brothers were also smart, responsible and capable but they lacked Kieran’s brand of ruthlessness. Only the son who resembled him the most should inherit his legacy. The older man opened his phone to stare at a photo he saved from Facebook again. It was a press shot of Vi

Chapter Fourteen: Bon Sejour
Tommy and his tightknit group of friends were early for their dinner reservation. They waited for the shadow king at Bon Sejour, their favorite French restaurant. Of course, they had the best table and the best service in the restaurant. All of the female patrons threw covetous looks every now and then towards their direction but they were so used to it that they didn't notice anymore.  Tommy looked at his friends and sighed. "Why are you all here? I thought it was just dinner for four." "Don't be so jealous, Tommy," the Hernandez twins chorused. "You're not the only one he called." "That is true," Emma said agreeably. "Kieran wanted all of us to be here."

Chapter Fifteen: A Woman in Love
Imogen came home to an empty penthouse in BGC after having a late night coffee date with Kieran. She knew that Vivian was away this weekend so she had the house all to herself. So she went directly to her bedroom turned on the lights to her modern and minimalist bedroom decorated in warm beige tones.  Her bedroom was her haven after a busy day at work so she designed it in a warm neutral tone like beige but accented it with autumn colors like sunset orange, teal blue, mustard yellow and emerald green. She had a wide four-poster California king bed with the softest sheets imaginable and silken pillowcases. On her rosewood bedside table sat two frames for a studio picture with her mother and another with Isabel and family.  Imogen felt incredibly lonely at that

Chapter Sixteen: Henry
They arrived in Singapore Changi Airport that afternoon with plenty of time to spare. Imogen was laughing uproariously at one of his stories as they arrived at the hotel that he booked. He surprised her again by being an attentive host. There was no time to feel worried, nervous or even sad. All she felt was ease and contentment in his company. "We're here, sir." The driver announced as the car pulled over in front of the hotel. "Allow me," Kieran said gently. He opened the door for them since he was sitting on the side of the car that led to the street.  He held out his hand and smiled down at her warmly. Blue-violet eyes drank in the towering sight of her new friend app

Chapter Seventeen: Paubaya (To entrust to someone else)
The whole world was filled with bright red roses or so it seemed to Imogen as she stepped inside the huge cathedral in Kieran's arm.  She couldn't see his face in the glaring afternoon sunshine so she looked away.  The dark king tucked her hand inside his arm more firmly as they walked inside the large, breathtaking Church of the Sacred Heart in Singapore. His warmth and solid figure beside her was enough to ground her to the saddest day of her life.  Her date didn't say anything but his silence was golden.  After the accidental meeting with Henry on Friday, they went out for the entire day of Saturday. They went to a zoo, a museum and to a film. Imogen took her camera along and took plenty of pictures of her handsome host to share with Isabel. Th

Chapter Eighteen: Kiera's Little White Lie
Kieran had trouble remembering how they returned to her hotel room the next morning. It was a blur, even to him. They were both drunker than he thought. Kieran was a lightweight drinker but Imogen was quite used to drinking her way through a bar. It was amusing to think that a petite woman like her could hold her liquor and he couldn't.  Anyway, he wasn't sure if it was because of the strong Scotch that he ordered or it was because of Imogen. All that he could remember in his drunken haze was that they had locked the door behind them and how he had roughly pushed her up against it. He couldn't get enough of her. What Kieran wanted was Imogen’s lips and neck. Her moans told him the same thing.

Chapter Nineteen: A Midnight Visitor
"My darling witchling."Imogen sighed in her sleep as she rolled over to her side. The cold night breeze came in through the open window. Opaque white curtains fluttered as the devil came inside her room. "Wake up, my darling."He walked with the darkness and shadows to his promised bride, his destiny. My pretty little darling witch. She lay on her bed of purple satin sheets and  translucent white curtains in her four poster bed like a sleeping child. He marveled at her ethereal beauty with her pearlescent skin and crown of dark hair. His s
