Chapter 20- Hopeless solution
“An indicator? What is that?”“The name already tells you what it does. It’s a special kind of dust that lights up whenever it’s around my magic, new or old. We will test it on this diary now, and if it lights up, then it definitely will work for the second one.” “Well, is it right here with you now?” Joana asked.“No,” Mariana said. “I will go and get it from my house. It’s not far from here.”“Ok.”Mariana flew back to her house in Pixieland and within a matter of minutes, she came back with the indicator in a small jar which was kind of big for her to carry. “Bring out the diary,” she said to Joana.Joana brought out the diary and held it in her hand. Mariana held the jar near the indicator, and then the magic dust inside it began to glow. “There you see,” Mariana said, showing them. “It will work just the same way on the other diary. You can have it now.”She handed the indicator jar to Joana who then put it back in her bag along

Chapter 21- Lonely journey
Joana found a large blue book one day titled ‘the council of five.’ She didn’t know if it was the right one, but she hoped it would be as she felt her eyes were going to fall out any moment over the countless number of texts she had to read for the past few months before she was able to find this one. She opened it and began to read what it said, it mentioned the supreme council, describing their glory as gods and all they had done to bring the mortal and immortal realms into existence. She had read something similar to this in other books but what she really needed to find was how she could locate them. She kept on reading for a while until she finally thought she found what she was looking for. She read a chapter that talked about the journey to the heart of mother nature, the center of the earth, the five ancient stones surrounding the middle. the middle representing the heart, and the stones representing the council of five. She wondered if that was where she w

Chapter 22- Meeting the council
She then felt a thick array of fog surrounding her, the fog went round and round her until she felt it begin to lift her up. It lifted her from the ground and took her to the skies, as fast as the speed of lightning. She tried to break free from its grasp, but as light as the fog was, if felt as if a large hand was holding her tightly. The fog finally dropped her in an opening. Surrounding her was not the five large stones anymore, but each member of the council of five, seated on their thrones. “Are you the one who summoned us?” One of them, the first member said to her. “Yes,” Joana said nervously. “And why did you do so?” “I came here before, in a first life,” she said. “And I have come again to ask of the same thing I asked for the last time I came here. I want my mortal life back.” “Oh, I remember you now,” the third member said. “You are Marylin Lou, the one who loved that human boy.”“Yes,” Joana said. “We had an agreem

Chapter 23- Derick's save
Suddenly, she spotted a dark figure flying towards where she was. She squinted her eyes further and saw that it was Derick! She couldn’t believe herself but she never thought that she would be so happy to see him. He landed between where she lay and the hungry pack of wolves. The wolves upon seeing him, began to charge at him with full force. Joana, who felt scared that they would kill him, tried to stand up to help him. Much to her surprise, he didn’t need her help. One by one, he began tearing them to pieces with his fangs and claws as they were coming, she watched him as he fought down the pack effortlessly, showing them no mercy as they kept charging. Joana watched him as he battled in front of her, not letting any of the wolves get to where she was, the blood of his opponents dripping down from his mouth, staining his hands and his chest. Not minding the situation, she imagined how delicious it would taste if she licked it off him. Ugh get a grip girl. He had

Chapter 24- Kissed by mistake
Joana sat at the library sulking as she stared at the books in front of her. She couldn’t believe that she had to go back to reading again as Dana, Derick and the other coven members didn’t know where to find the other three ingredients except the pixie dust, and of course, her immortal blood. To make things worse, she had been having a lot of strange dreams about her and Derick, she tried everything within her power to make them stop. She tried to avoid him as much as she could and even suspended her training with him but none of these seemed to solve the problem. She had already spent so much time on her quest, and at this point, she didn’t know what to do anymore. She was so deep in thought that she didn’t even notice when Derick entered the room. “Hey,” he said, startling her. “Have you been able to find anything?”“No,” she said. “It’s like whenever I see a solution, like the pixie diary or the supreme council, I go for it thinking that I’m one step closer

Chapter 25- Pleasurable dreams
“But why?” Derick said. “I don’t know why you’re being so paranoid over a kiss. Why do you think I would ever want to come between your relationship with your boyfriend?”“Um, I don’t know, maybe it’s because we were once together!” She said, increasing her voice. “Look, I don’t know whatever Edmund told you but my relationship with Marylin had nothing to do with you, and you had no right to bring it up. If I wanted to come between you and your boyfriend, I wouldn’t have bothered to help you get back home at all. I even talked to Dana to help out because I wanted in my heart for you to go back home safely. Everyone in the coven was mad at you for wanting to leave again, but I was the only one who still stood by your decision because it was what you wanted and what would truly make you happy. “And don’t worry, if you really want us to stay away from each other from now on then fine, have it your way. I won’t be there to distract you anymore. Good luck in your que

Chapter 27- Third party
Knock-knock-knock “Come in,” Dana said in response to the knock she heard on her room door. She saw Joana walk through the door and welcomed her in. “Oh, hey Joana, how are you today?”“I’m good,” Joana said. “What’s up? I haven’t been seeing so much of you lately.”“Oh well yes, I’ve just been in my room, nothing much. Is there something you want to talk to me about?” “Yes, I had an argument with Derick,” Joana said immediately. “About what?” Dana asked her surprisingly. “I’m a bit nervous to talk about what happened, we had a fight over something and I told him that we shouldn’t be around each other anymore. I feel bad for the things I said to him, and I feel weird going to meet him alone, but I came to you to see if you could maybe talk to him for me.”“I don’t know,” Dana said. “Derick isn’t the type to get angry over things easily, I need to know what really happened so I can know how to approach this better.”“I don’t kno

Chapter 28- Derick's resolution
“I’m sorry,” Joana said. “I just didn’t want to put you in an uncomfortable position, that was why I thought bringing Dana here would make things a bit better.” “So, you’re indirectly saying you’re scared I won’t be able to control the feelings I have for you?”“No Derick, you know it isn’t like that.”“Then tell me what it is, are you afraid of being alone with me now? Are you scared something will happen?”“That’s enough Derick,” Dana interrupted much to Joana’s relief. “I didn’t call you here so that both of you would start another argument, I want us to live in peace, you know that Joana won’t be with us for very long and instead of spending the time she has here fighting, you both should be trying to make memories.” Joana might have been happy that Dana stopped Derick from trolling over her, but now that Dana was saying these things, she was beginning to get uncomfortable again. What kind of memories? What did she mean by what she just said?

Chapter 29- Lone hunt
Joana continued the rest of her training with Dana and Edmund, while she continued studying during the day. For the past weeks, she had to get used to life in the castle without Derick, the one that had showed her the way to this new life of hers. At first, she found it hard, but in the later days, she found she was able to cope. Derick, much to her surprise had asked Edmund to help her with the rest of her training. So, most of her time in the castle was now spent with Edmund and Hillary, as they would go hunting together in the evening, and then begin training into the night. As for Derick, she wasn’t seeing much of him anymore, she didn’t like the fact that they couldn’t even greet each other when they saw, but it was what he asked for and she had to respect that. On the day she completed her final round of training, Edmund declared her a powerful vampire after she fought down a pack of wolves they practiced with in a forest nearby. She was now able to
