[51] FAMILY
Aramide dragged her feet on the ground as she took small steps towards the room that her daughter was in, the doctor had just informed her  that Aracely was awake and she had raced to the spot, Her hands hovered over the door handle as she sucked in a deep breath, Cautiously, Aramide opened the door, and she had barely finished hearing the door creak when a small voice croaked out     “M-momma” The voice sounded unreal, so unfamiliar and Aramide felt a warm feeling run through her skin. She still could not accept that at one point she imagined that she would never hear this — Her daughter's voice.      Tears involuntarily fell down Aramide's eyes, In that moment she felt complete, She had yearned to hear that voice for what seemed like forever, She stayed frozen in her spot as a smile crept onto her lips, carefully tugging on them. Aramide placed her hands over her mouth, As tears

[52] THE ENCOUNTER
Blaire felt a lump grow in her throat as she looked over the files in her hands over and over again, she had no clue what to feel at this point, was this true? Were the contents of the paper in front of her legit? Had she just been kidnapped by her daughter, by her Tania? Her little girl? The one whom she thought had been dead for twenty long years, the one she had searched for under every rock and bottom in this world,  The one whine everyone considered dead, was she    "Do you believe me now?" Tania said as she locked eyes with Blaire, "It's me momma," she tried when she still saw the disbelief in the woman's eyes, her lips curled into a frown as she got up from the bed the woman was currently sat on, it had been days since she had kept Blaire her, Last night she had decided to tell her everything, she wanted her mother to know she was alive and breathing, that she didn't die like everyone thought, once she had her mother on her side, no one would be

[53] WHO ARE YOU
The tension in the room could be cut with a knife. Once again Aramide felt all her senses going haywire, she felt like she could feel and hear everything and nothing's t the same time. The back ground noises, The sound of doctors and patients bickering the sound of Dared's feet hitting the white  hospital  tiles as he paced about, the way he grunted between thick breaths and how his body remained so tense almost as if he had a ticking time bomb inside of him and if she tugged on him or even came to close he would explode and the impact could crush her and everything around her.          Aramide vaguely felt herself sliding down the wall, her breathing was erratic as her vision became blurred, her hands shook rapidly as tears filled her eyes. Her body suddenly became too heavy and everywhere was too Loud.   Aramide wondered if she was dying, was this how she wanted to end up? Dead befo

[54] BONDS ARE THICKER THAN BLOOD
“Momma!” Aramide heard Aracely Squeal, a small smile played on the woman's lips as she weakly reached out for the girl who didn't hesitate to pull her into a hug. Aramide kissed her daughter's hair as she held her close, The little girl meant the world to her.   “Thirsty?” Aramide heard Dared's hoarse voice and their eyes locked. For a moment there, she felt she could see through him — through the castle of lies he had built for who knows how long. They needed to talk and now. It had been two days since she had that panic attack or whatever it was, and the change in Aramide had been obvious, even Aracely had noticed it.   Aramide tore her gaze from Dared as he stared at Aracely who seemed to be healing up nicely, she had a few reservations about the girl walking around in her fragile state after all she had surgery a few days ago, She should be in her hospital room resting. but of course, Aramide wasn't about to question the gi

[55] SHATTER LIKE GLASS
“W-what?” Aramide asked as she raised an eyebrow, Her forehead creased, and Dared watched the lines surface, Her eyes never left his though, silently urging him to explain further.   “You heard me. Blaire isn't who we thought she was” The man confirmed as he stood up and walked away from the bed, He proceeded to pace around the room, a habit even Aramide was guilty of whenever she was stressed.   “What does that mean?" Aramide asked once again, completely confused as she worked herself to sit up, on the bed, Dared was about the protest about her sitting up but she held her hand “so?" She enquired. She felt anxiety and frustration build up in her as she watched Dared withdraw into his Silent chamber.   “Oh come on Dared!" She suddenly screeched. “What exactly is going on? I am sick and tired of you beating around the bush, it's driving me insane, what do you mean by all of this?! What's going on with Blaire—”

[56] JUST YOU AND ME
Before Aramide could object or speak; Her lips intertwined with Cole's, their noses grazed as a tear slipped down her eyes, Aramide knew the gravity of what had just happened, she knew she had fallen into a ditch she wasn't sure how to get out off, she knew she had just dug out all the emotions she had buried for years. but how exactly did she get here? ********************* Aramide's grip tightened on her pillow as she cried into it, How could Dared even assume that? Why were humans so insensitive, was that what he thought of her? Did he think she was that weak? that she would fall into the arms of the next man who was close enough just to find comfort? that she traveled to another country just to be with Cole? the same Cole that she had abandoned years ago to get married to him? how could he even assume such?  Besides, he was the one who had walked out on her that day, she could still vividly recall

[57] THE WEIGHT OF BONDS
“Get out” Aramide had spat causing Cole to flinch. “what do—”    “leave,” She said as their eyes locked but she tore her gaze away almost immediately, Cole couldn't get his hands on what had gone wrong, what had he done wrong? they had been together for the first time in so many years and she didn't back down from the kiss, so what was wrong now? it was obvious that Aramide still yearned for him as much as he did her, although as the years had passed Cole had resigned to his fate, he had decided to let Aramide be so she could find her happiness.     But that day, when she had appeared at his doorstep with teary eyes and the newfound information that he was a father, Cole had mixed feelings about letting her go, The man didn't need to be a genius to know Aramide wasn't happy with Dared, and if their recent arguments were any clue of some sorts the r

[58] AWAY
“Finally” Aramide breathed fresh air watching the cars move by as she waited at the entrance of the hospital for Dared to bring her daughter, she had never been so happy to leave somewhere, a small smile played on her lips as she watched her daughter walk out of the hospital with Dared, it was a tight smile, but it was worth it.        They were going back home. Aramide had a lot to protest to that, but when Aracely began to shed a few tears, her motherly instincts kicked in, Her daughter did not deserve to suffer because of the things her parents did, That wasn't the life she wanted for her, but that didn't mean she was going to let him ride home with them. no. no. no.   “Are you sure you don't want me to take you? We are heading to the same place after all.” Dared pleaded when they reached Aramide.   “No, thank you.” Aramide said as she took hold of Aracely, “Aracely and I will be just fine withou

[59] DESPERATION
“Let go of me! Let me go!” Aramide struggled against the paramedics that tried to take her away from the wreckage. “Leave me! Aracely! My baby!” She cried as she struggled against them, her fingers clawed on the hot ground, “Look! it's my baby, why are you taking me away from my baby” She said as she looked between a particular paramedic that was trying to help her and the ashes on the ground desperation filled her eyes, grief was like a disease, it slowly eats up a person, but breaks them, it breaks with the reality that they are powerless and no matter how many years they said or how many times they cry, they will never, ever be able to get back what was lost. They had covered enough ground away from the spot before Aramide screamed again, Almost as if she had been in a trance for a while, she darted around as reality hit her in waves again. “Aracely?” she cried out, “Ara! Aracely!" She

[60] AFTER
The music was loud.       Really loud.        Latifa could feel her eardrums hurting, she was sitting at the far edge of the room, watching the commotion and adrenaline rush through everyone but her, She could faintly hear — underneath the loud noise, that would probably make her deaf soon — The demanding tone of her best friend.     Latifa rolled her eyes as she flipped her scarlet hair and got to her feet, She slowly bit her lip as she strained her senses to identify exactly where her friend was. her vision comprised of a complete blur between disco colors and screaming teenagers, but she never missed the white— happy go lucky package that was going around.   She was quite tall for someone who had just clicked sixteen, and her fashion sense made her look even older, Latifa was like one of those girls you could swear came from some magazine in fairyland, she was
