Aramide slowly woke up. She realized two things the moment she gained consciousness. One, the sun had already set! She had slept in, There was so much to be done today and she had slept in?   She didn't have too much time to ponder about that though as the second realization hit her, she wasn't alone, Her eyes widened as she quickly tried to move away but before her mind could go down the horrific possibilities, Dared gruff morning voice was heard   "Are you okay?" He whispered as their eyes, Aramide sighed in relief as she relaxed, "It’s you" She voiced her thoughts.   "Just me?!" He chuckled as he stood up, He was currently standing on the bed, Aramide chuckled fondly as the billionaire made a fool of himself even proceeding to do a little dance after he had feigned offense at her initial comment. After the whole drama, they had eventually gone down for breakfast. Turns out Dared had a penthouse in London,

[32] I'M BACK
“Are you sure about this?” Dared asked for the millionth time as he watched Aramide finish dressing up.   The girl sighed and turned around, She had been facing the mirror for a while and she could see the worried look Dared was continuously shooting in her direction. She frowned as she picked up her bag and spoke “I can't hide forever remember?” She sighed as picked up her things are headed out the door, Dared was hot on her heels, a million and one reasons running through his mind as to why he should not allow her to leave the most prominent meaning that he would lose her, but the reality was, He had already lost her.   “Aramide you—” Dared could barely finish his words before Aramide cut him off with a look, a look that clearly said she wasn't going to discuss it further, it was one of her looks that he had to admit made her look even more beautiful but still displeased him. He sighed as his shoulders slu

[33] YOU ARE MINE
Aramide chuckled as she and Cole raced about the beach, He would occasionally pour water at her and she would do the same. Her chuckles filled the air, The sound of feet hitting the soil and the sound of happiness echoing through her, Cole couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth — Yesterday they had bonded as one, They had reunited and every moment was priceless. He had even woken up to breakfast in bed.      Even he was now afraid for Aramide, Cole wasn't sure Aramide would be able to take the blow that was about to come her way.   “Come on” Aramide yelled out to Cole. She had a big smile on her face as she threw the water about, Splashing it all over, She seemed unfazed at the fact that she was getting deeper and deeper into the water.   Aramide closed her eyes as she took in the serenity of the place. She finally had everything she wanted. Aramide felt like she was finally at peace like she finally ha

The song had already began.   For every bride, their wedding day was the happiest day of their lives, long white veils and a long beautiful dress, The moment of control that you were deciding exactly how and whom you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. at least that was what the fairy tales said right? but reality was always far from fantasy.    Aramide's off shoulder wedding gown was designed with diamond stones spread across the upper side of the gown, She wore her shoes, and put on her veil. You know when one's circumstances test them in such a way that they are lost between being grateful for the chances they have and feeling unfortunate for the chances they lost, Aramide was at this spot. This painful point of in between, she didn't know whether to cry or tell or laugh, She felt frozen, traumatized, in shock. She hadn't uttered word since the incident. She sighed and  accepted her fate

[35] GOOD BYE
“Take him out” Dared yelled as he kept his grip on Aramide as if shielding her from the worst plague on planet Earth — Then again, he was right, Cole was the worst mistake Aramide could have ever made. The worst mishap she could have ever done. Or wasn't he? Was this love? Or was it obsession? It was love, right? Then since when did the requirements for loving someone go so high? Since when did Affection so expensive that people could no longer afford it?   “Aramide please listen! I was going to tell you! I was showing to tell you before Bola walked in! I had tried to tell you so many times can't you remember?” Cole tried as he was hauled out.   Tears filled Aramide's eyes.   Blaire watched her daughter suffer and rage-filled her, Aramude didn't have to go through this. It was hard enough that she had decided to marry someone she did not love — she didn't need Co

[36] BEGINNING
With time, Our skins get older, Our health becomes weaker too, but our mentalities get older with Experiences.          "That's it!" Aramide glared as her eyes met the blue base that had just been knocked down. “What did I tell you about running around the house?" She scolded as she pulled on her meanest face    "But momma!" Aracely whined. She didn't mean to run around like that, She was just a bit hyper. Aramide glared at her daughter for a bit before she wiped the look off her face and said "you'll be the end of me" she muttered.    "No, no, no" A thick accent called out, Aramide rolled her eyes, just what she needed "I am the only one that will be the end of you" Dared commented out of nowhere.   "Daddy!" Aracely screamed as She ran to her father and engulfed him in a hug, The eight-year had always been her father's daughter, probab

[37] AMULETS AND FAMILY
“Aramide” Dared whispered as he watched Aramide stroke their daughter's hair. Tears threatened to pour down the woman's eyes as she ran her hands through her daughter's hair. Aracely was still unconscious —seemingly in a deep sleep.         Aramide's heart filled with sorrow — What did this mean for her daughter? Was her daughter going to die? Her little girl was already too frail, As she was born as a sickle cell child.   Aramide wept as she watched her daughter sleep peacefully. Why was this happening to her family? They were finally happy. Why was the universe always ready to take a big straw and suck out people's happiness. Why can't people just be happy? Why can't things just go right? Aramide was tired of all the tests and struggles and everything else, all she wanted was a sorrow-free life, why was that so hard to achieve?    “Momma?” Aracely whispered, she was still in a sleepy state and was s

[38] GRAVE STONES AND MEMORIES
“Momma...” Aramide whispered as her hands delicately grazed the gravestone in front of her, a tear fell and hit the pavement. “I'm sorry for not coming to see you for the past few years” She held back a sob, Before she whimpered, ”It's just been tough you know” She finished as her eye watered with tears that threatened to fall.        Aramide had just gotten back to Nigeria, Lagos State, She was currently at the Cemetery where her mother had been buried. Dared had insisted on coming along, but Aramide had shut him off, She needed to do this alone. Face all her struggles alone as she had done over the years, this was her fight, her mother, and her life       Aramide clutched the Roses in her hands tighter before she whispered “I'm sure you are looking down at me right now,” She looked up to the sky “I hope I haven't failed you as a daughter,” she said as she stared at the name inscribed

[39] FRIENDSHIPS CAN SINK
Aramide chuckled loudly, her laughter filled the air of the camera as the sky got darker.  She wiped her tears, got up, and spoke with a small smile "This is what you don't understand Bola, I don't have to say Cole's name, I already live rent-free in his mind and heart, and you know the best part whenever he is with you. He would only be thinking of m—   "Aramide!" Bola yelled in rage.    "Bola!" Aramide retorted as their steel gazes pierced into each other's skin, In one's eyes was nothing but hate and the other had indifference, Although Aramide did not hate Bola, she was going to make her understand that she was no longer that girl who cried over everyone and everything, who always sacrificed and who was always willing to live for others.   "Look Bola, you'd better come down from your tower of ego, or I will pull the rug from under your feet," Aramide warned "Besides, why are you even here? What are you doin

[40] TRUTHS AREN'T COOL
“I got a call from her school saying she was unconscious, when we arrived at the hospital the doctor said she had gone into a coma, and now, They've put her on life support—”   Aramide froze. Tears didn't dare grace her eyes and memories lacked the audacity to invade her mind. Her eyes remain glued to the small frame that was laid on the bed tied to too many tubes for her to count, that tiny little frame that was her entire world.    Until now, Aramide didn't know how to pray, But today she was begging God for another chance, just one more chance, one more chance so her daughter could live. She would give anything her daughter's place.   The frame seemed smaller and smaller by the moment, The only thing stopping her from rushing into that tiny hospital room was the glass between them, Aramide placed her hands on the glass, the only barrier between her and her little girl, her little princess, her drama quee
