Standing on his balcony, looking down at his pack training grounds, Rex Callis smiled with pride at his future warriors and scouts that will be the final step to bringing the Sakura Pack back into the light, walking towards the future, rather than living in the shadows of the past. Rex has been an isolated Alpha for centuries. Makai, his beta does 99% of the 'official' business. The last 800 years have been the hardest so far. Rex’s mate was out there, but he didn't know where or even how to begin to look for his mate in this life. Makai once suggested he go to all the packs, and sniff around. Rex just kicked him in the ass and sent him on his way. He didn't know why Makai was so, stunted in his mind until he finally asked Makai himself. _--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_ **FLASHBACK: Rex & Makai** Each Royal Alpha pack has a set number of candidates, usually coming from the Nemesis Pack. Kit and Winter Wolf were the oldest Royal Alphas of their generation. When Rex
At the rushed pace, Rex and his wolves got to the Council Grounds a full day before the rest of the packs, or so they thought. Lady Kitsune, a Council wolf, was waiting for their arrival, greeted them warmly, and showed them where they would be staying for the duration of the Gathering. Wanting to speak with Kitsune alone, Rex ushered Makai and his wolves to go in the house and relax. Taking the hint, Makai ushered the wolves away.“Have any other Alphas arrived, or are we the first?” Rex asked her.“No, Tristan King arrived last night. He and his wolves are in the house just up the lane from you. He’s a very quiet, insightful leader. Just like his father, Winter Wolf.” She smiled at the memory of it. “He has even kept his father’s Luna as his own.” Kitsune gave Rex a confused“I was just a pup back then! I’ll have to speak with him when I get the chance. I was always trying to catch up to him and Alpha Singularis. To this day Kit can outrun me in dead out race.” Rex laughed.“You wer
When Tristan snapped back into focus, he went to his Luna,"What the hell happened?" He asked."Your Wolf took over when you placed that Amulet around your neck. My Luna Chain was barely able to bring you back. What did you see?" She asked."A memory I thought I lost a long time ago. This amulet has brought me closer to finding my mate, my salvation. We need to go now." Tristan barked. _--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_--_The Day of the Council’s Gathering was clear, bright, and one for the history books. There were a lot of new wolves mixed with familiar ones. Omegas were to the back of the Court, while the Alphas, Betas, and Lunas were ushered into position for the procession. “I’m grateful these Gatherings are 7 years apart.” Rex frowned. “It’s not that bad, is it?” Makai joked. “You haven’t been to a Gathering to welcome a new Royal Alpha, have you?” Rex asked. “No, and I’ve been around for a while now, maybe I’ll meet my mate?” He clapped his hands to
Seeing all the wolves that have come to the meeting made Rex shiver as though there was something off about the number of wolves he didn't know, versus the ones he did know. Walking back to his cabin to get the box with the Blood Amulet in it. Makai looked up as Rex entered. "Rexxy! I thought you would be out sniffing all the wolves, looking for your mate?" he joked with his Alpha. "Makai, tread carefully, I may be your friend, but you know my situation. If I don't find my mate within the next few years, my Wolf's Spirit will fade and I will no longer exsist as a wolf." Rex looked down. "Hey, Rexy, I didn't mean to offend, only tease. I know you have been distracted by finding your mate, all of us know your struggles. We are behind you whatever your situation." Makai said lightly, using his childhood nickname. "Thank you, my friend. I just want to get meeting his highness," Rex said, rolling his eyes, "Out of the way so I can focus on finding that scent." Rex grabbed the gold box
"Aisha!" Jo thundered around their ‘Pack Shack’ looking for his little actress. Walking into the kitchen Aisha was at the table, sipping coffee. "Sir Alpha. Good morning." She smiled at him. "Was last night successful? Did you meet the Luna, get her scent?" Jo asked, looking like an eager puppy, all he needed now was the tail. "No. That other Sakura Alpha got in the way. I was almost spotted, but the new Royal's Luna is quite distracting. Her scent is strange. I don't think she's even a wolf." She replied, looking concerned. "How could that be? She could have been just hiding her scent and rank from you." He said looking into Aisha's eyes seriously. "If she's not a wolf, this job will be harder to accomplish. I don't know if even I can completely hide my Wolf Spirit in front of a Royal. We have to think of a contingency plan in case our original plan falls through. We might just have to kill the Luna and hope my charms will be enough for him to fall for me and our plan and leave
In the chaos of the Rouge's blitz attack, Rex’s lost sight of the upper tier where Tristan and his Luna were being led to the special seating for the Royal's introduction to the Council and court. All the different Alpha Lines, Alphas, betas, and Lunas stood in line to walk by them, paying them respect and placing an offering to welcome them into the Brotherhood of the Wolf. Rex noticed that there were very few omegas at this meeting. Unfortunately, his wolves were the last pack that would go pay tribute, so they saw and heard everything. First came the smoke, hissing through the court, the gas that hid itself in the smoke started knocking out the younger wolves and lower ranks. It was just enough time for the Rogues to get in close, grab Tristan, and blinked out without a trace of their auras. A flash of silver out of the corner of his eye drew his eyes up to see a slight shimmer in the air before they all disappeared into it, a sword sticking out of his Luna after she jumped in

**Aisha's Dream** "Are you OK, Alpha Tristan? Jo is a little rough, but he is a fair Alpha. Please allow me to be your comfort," Aisha smiled releasing her aura into the air, “Your strength, and your happiness in this time of great sorrow," She cooed and whispered putting her hands on his face, forcing him to meet her eyes. "You are never going to break my will. You little omega. I am of Royal blood. You're not wolf enough to fool my senses. My Luna is dead!" He hissed. My Wolf wants another, craves another. You will never be able to take the place of my mate." Tristan growled, Aisha's aura clearing the room, being overpowered by Royal aura. "STOP! Please? I didn't want to do this, all I want is to be free of Jo’s foolhardy plan to turn you into a Rogue, turn you against the Council, and overthrow the Council." she started. "Why? He has to know my Alpha's Spirit is too strong for him. There's nothing stronger than a Royal line." Tristan asked. "He has two Council members backing
