Chapter 4

"So? What happened?" asked the police officer

"This girl has been following me all morning-"

"What? Sir, I was only asking for directions"

And they began to have a shouting match, the police officer was just looking at them unimpressed 

"and because of you I am late for my work, I HAVE HAD TROUBLE FINDING A JOB THAT WON'T FIRE ME WITHIN A WEEK FOR 2 YEARS NOW-"

"IF YOU WERE HAVING A PROBLEM FINDING A JOB FOR 2 YEARS THEN WHO SAYS YOU WON'T THAT GET FIRED WITH THAT JOBS TOO"

OK now they are outside of the issue at hand, The officer had enough and slammed the table causing both Stephen and the girl to flinch and go silence 

"We looked at security camera this young lady came out of the airport not too long ago, and there is no evidence that she was working with that thief that stole your wallet, we also checked her suitcase there wasn't anything suspicious"

"But-"

"ah-ha see I am innocent" Stated the girl looking at Stephen smugly

"Sir, there must be something"

"There isn't, you may bo Miss"

"thank you, officer," said the girl then she looked at Stephen again and said "May God help you, Have a good day" and left the police station and stopped at the gate and thought to herself "how can I get to The Presidio park' and abruptly he saw a sign tell her which direction goes to The Presidio park she smiles to herself and walked

-at the company where ruby works-

"Finally it's done," said Ruby stretching her arms

"Yeah, I was sure I was gonna get fired, Thank you for helping me," said Anna, she nearly brought the company to ruins

"Your welcome let's take a break at the cafeteria I haven't had breakfast yet"

"Me either let's go"

so they went to the cafeteria on the lower floor, after they got their food they sat down and talked about everything and nothing 

"Hey, my husband's birthday is on August 17, that means I have a week to decide what to get hi? and I have an idea what, you got any ideas

"I have never been in a relationship before so no, HANG ON WHAT?" shouted Ruby at her friend/colleague and looking at her with a shocked face

"uh, you okay ruby?"

"i-i am fine, but when did you say your husbands birthday was?" asked Ruby nervously

"17th of august"

"and h-how long did you say you have to decide for a gift?"

"A week?" answered Anna unsure what going on with Ruby

Ruby did a bit of math and realization hit her like true

"THAT MEANS TODAY IS 10TH AUGHR WHICH MEANS today my father's birthday and no one remembered, oh my poor dad," said ruby going from shouting to mumbling to herself and banged her head hard quite hard a bunch of times and immediately tried to call Daniel

Daniel phone was vibrating causing him to wake up

"oh for the love of What?" said Daniel answering the phone

"Hey, Daniel when you came home today did congratulate dad for his birthday?"

"WHAT?! today is his birthday?!" 

"who am I kidding, of course, you didn't" whispered ruby pinching the bridge of her nose

"Look why don't we make a surprise for him and make him believe we pretended we forgot and-"

"Sis I am so tired I can't process what you are saying," said Daniel tiredly

"Fine, you go back to sleep, when you wake up buy a cake and come to the location I will send you"

"Sounds good to me bye"

"bye"

After that Ruby called her mom

"What is it, ruby?"

"sooo today is the dad's birthday"

"took you long enough to realize"

"Sorry but wait I will call dad and ask him to go to a restaurant to have some family time while Daniel and Stephen will bring a cake and party streams to that restaurant that dad took us when we were kids and will bring a gift"

"Alright, but I still can't forget all three of you forgot"

"Mom, we are sort, by the did you do something for him?"

"Of course, I made him his favorite breakfast"

"Fritatta"

"yep"

"Alright I have to call Stephen bye"

"bye"

"How on earth am I gonna sell these pice of garbage?" whined Stephen to himself sitting on a bench  in a park

-earlier-

"um hi I am so sorry I am late on my first day, but I got pick-pocketed on my way here and ended up in the police station"

"oh my must've been rough but it's ok since I came late too I overslept, so let me tell you what you will be doing," said the manager

-time skip-

"Hang on I signed up for office work not selling things on the street"

"well it is your choice but before you decide" 

The manager is somehow convinced that selling vitamin bottles will have him promoted and get paid double

"Alright I will take the job" Said Stephen

"wonderful, sign here," said the guy handing a bunch of papers

"Alright"

"Alright, I cant sulk all day, I Have at least try" Stated Stephen, giving himself some motivations 

All of a sudden his phone rang 

"What's up, sis?"

"Today is dad's birthday, none of us did anything," said rudy with an 'i am not in a mood' voice

"Yikes, so what do we do?"

"Where are you?"

"At work"

" Did I hear that right? You at work? Really?" asked ruby shocked

"haha sis, not funny"

"well I find it hilarious, anyways, I called Daniel he will be in charge of the cake and you buy some party streamers, I will send the location of the restaurant right now"

"fine with me," Said Stephen and hang up the phone

'now lets stat'

Attempt 1

"Hello, sir, how are you doing? are you looking for an easy way to keep healthy? well, today is your lucky day, this vita-"

"Not interested son," said the old man cutting him off

Attempt 2

"Hello ladies, working out, well let me tell you an easy way to lose weight-" before he could finish he got slapped 

"Are you calling fat?" said one of the girls

Attempt 3

"Hello, ma'am-"

"WHAT?" shouted the old lady

"um, I have this vitamin that will-"

"WHAT?"

Stephen looked at her fr a couple of seconds and left, obviously, she couldn't hear well, and he wasn't going to lose his time 

Attempt 4

"Sir, ma'am, I have this vitamin that does wonder"

"We already tried that kiddo," said the man

"Really?" asked Stephen

"yes, and does nothing, I am pretty sure it is a scam" responded the woman

Attempt after attempt and not one person bought a single bottle of the vitamin from him and it was getting dark then he remembered the party streams he was supposed to buy and tried to rush to a store when he bumped into someone
