Chapter 6

“Meet my son, Noah Waniworth”

Beverly McCartney couldn't believe her eyes, her eyes widened as though she had just seen death. His deep blue eyes met hers for a brief second then turned to his mother.

“Beverly?” Vivienne called, snapping her out “Are you okay?, You're suddenly mute”

“I’m fine” she stood up from her seat, sharing her shoes and walked up to him “hi it is a pleasure to meet you Mr Noah” she started avoiding eye contact.

How is this possible?.. she thought staring at him. He wasn’t a male model but he should have been. The lush, mother lode-gold hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, a sign of his rude health. His only blemish was that he was beetle-browed and they sometimes knitted in frustration.

The aquiline nose he sported complemented his prominent cheekbones. Handsome in an understated way, his basalt jaw and Spartan shoulders spoke of strength. He possessed a latent, leonine power. His wayfarer-blue eyes. Sloe shaped, they could resemble two liquid-blue pools of flashing fire. After a moment of being accessed with his stares, he then, shifted his gaze to his mother “Where’s she?” ignoring her, he asked and buried both hands into each suit pant's pocket of his.

“Well… in her room” She smiled and steadily watch Beverly disappointedly walk back to her seat. It was a bug blow on Beverly's face, not only did she make out with a billionaire, she assumed, which happened to be Noah and now? She had to work as his grand mother's nanny.

Rude. She spatted inside her, bitting her bottom lips.

“He’s always like that, pay no attention to him” she said right after Noah walked away, without a second glance, shutting the door behind him. “Apparently…he's always so cold to everyone even his family… me” she completed being a little hurt.

“Ma-maybe he's just having a rough day”

“Nahh.. I'd agree if he wasn't my son” she turned to Beverly “So, have more drinks while I fetch everybody for the third time”

“Okay ma—Vivienne” she chuckled and Vivienne walked out after a soft nod.

An hour had gone by since Vivienne left and all Beverly thought of was Noah, he looked as though he didn't recognize her one bit or clearly she was mere exaggerating. It was a relieve at first but also, she felt strange. What if he does realize me but tend not to know?, Does he think of me as any but a poor beggar to him?

Snap out of it bervi.!

Suddenly the door opened and Vivienne walked in “So, this will come as a shock.. there have been some issues with the meeting as we speak but aside that bad news, it's concluded you start right away” she explained and smiled.

“Thank you, you won't regret your decision, you don't know how this means so much to me!” she stood on her feet

“Oh it's okay darling, anyways, your payment will be paid in half and by the end of the month be completed” she smiled, getting an approved nod from Beverly “um, anyways, while I do something real quick, I'll urge you to take a tour round the house, get to know your way around this area”

“Um, sure, why not— But” she gulped “But, what about Martha, won't I get to see her?”

“Not really, though you would have but she's on her meds right now and would need sometime alone, I'll suggest tomorrow as the perfect time to see her” she straightened her dress “Oh, I almost forgot, one piece of advice, don't call her Martha, granny mia is just fine, it's how she likes it”

“Oh, thank you”

“You’re welcome, um, tomorrow Mr Flurrot, our butler will let you in on the rules, the do's and the undo's is that clear?”

“Yes…”

“Alright then, I'm glad you applied for this Beverly, even if it doesn't mean so much to everyone, just know it means alot to me?” her soothing words filled the ears of Beverly and her heart instantly warmed to it.

“I really appreciate this and the drink of course..”

“Oh it's not nothing at all, just feel at home okay? You can also ask me anything you find confusing around this parts of the house”

“Okay”

“Alright, I'll be on my way now” she waved and reckoned for Beverly to come, which she did in a matter of seconds and then into the hallway “bye” was all she said before walking away. A sharp breath escaped through her mouth as she watch Vivienne disappeared. She admired how beautiful the hall was, the beautiful portrait hung on the wall one after another and the bright chandelier that gave out a bright color.

But deep down it wasn't what she thought about, her heart warmed up to the acceptance, it was a relief and now, all she had to do was put on a good behavior and hoped Martha with love her company not see it as a nuisance.

“You Must be Granny Mia's Care taker?” in a little voice, Beverly looked down and stared at the little boy, who seemed around the age of eight and pulled out a welcoming smile.

“Yes.. yes I am and who must be this dashing young man?” she teased but indeed, he was handsome despite the fact he wasn't a man.

“Marco..” he said out immediately, his small voice echoing through the auiet hallway.

“That’s a sweet name just for a fine handsome young man like you” he smiled to it, blushing to her words. She crunched to her knees, smiling “I’m guessing you know your way around this mansion like the back of your hand, considering how big you are”

“Well that depends, who wants to know?” he smirked, as his green eyes bloomed with delight

“Oh, just a helpless lady who happens to lost her way around this parts, would you mind helping her?”

“Unlike the others, you're really nice and for that!, I'll show up anywhere and everywhere” he giggled cutely and she smiled.
