"Correcting your answers?", Asher chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "N..no.." I shook my head, my knees were almost trembling. "But I saw," he grinned. I gulped and swallowed the lump in my throat. Then I took a breath before walking toward the door. I need to somehow get out of here first. "Look Asher, I wasn't. And Mr. Keating isn't teaching me. Move!" I said as I reached near him. He was standing there blocking the door. "Really? Okay, I'm sorry, maybe it's some problem with my eyes. Anyway let me tell the principal and ask him to check the camera footage," he said, pointing at the camera on one corner of the classroom. I bit my lip, not knowing what to say or do. Then I heard the sound of heavy footsteps coming up the steps. Probably Mr. Keating. I pushed Asher out. He stumbled and almost fell back, yelping from the sudden shock. But then I grabbed his wrist and placed my other hand over his mouth. His pupils dilated as he looked into my eyes. "Look Asher, please let's talk about this," I said before hastily dragging him along with me. Strangely he didn't protest and he ran along with me. I stopped running and left his hands free when we reached the corridor near the library. "You are really something," Asher chuckled looking at me whilst shaking his head. "So courageous of you to do such a thing on your first week here." I sighed. "So what shall I do for you to not tell anyone about this?" "You don't need to do anything. Cause I already decided to report this to the principal," he replied. I bit my lips in annoyance and frustration. How would I convince this jerk? Do I need to beg now? But that's better than suspension or dismissal. So let's do it. C'mon Caroline! "Please..don't report this, Asher. I'll do anything you say. Just please don't do this. At least, snow prince, I'm your friend's cousin and best friend. Remember that?? Ty will get really sad if I get a suspension so soon," I said and cringed inwardly at how I sounded. "Woah!" He gave a fake laugh, showing his perfect row of white teeth. "What did you just call me? Snow prince??" he raised his eyebrows. "Okay, call me that once again." I bit my teeth together tightly behind my lips, cursing him and myself in my mind. Then I gave him a tight-lipped smile. "Snow Prince. You really look like a snow prince," I said. He laughed again, shaking his head. "You know, you are too bad at flirting," he said in between fits of laughter. I did a great job at controlling myself as he continued to laugh like that in my face. "Okay, enough I guess," I finally said. He instantly put an end to his laughter and looked at me. His features became hella intimidating in the next second and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. "You are the one who keyed my car yesterday, right?" he asked. "No, I'm not." I shook my head, trying to be confident. "You are not?" he growled taking a step closer to me, looking directly into my eyes. "No," I said sternly, although I was feeling really nervous inside. I already know from my earlier experiences that this jerk is a little bit psychic. Don't know what he will do the next moment. He started coming closer and closer to me, looking at my eyes, forehead, nose, lips....oh fuck! "Move...! What are you gonna do? Kiss me?" I yelped pushing him away. "Kiss you? I'd rather kiss an ugly toad," he responded chuckling. I felt my blood boil at that comment and my hands involuntarily fisted into balls. How dare he say I'm uglier than an ugly frog! "You know Caroline, you look like a bright red tomato now," he said grinning. I was standing on the extreme tip of my patience now. "Tell me, are you gonna report to the principal or not?" I asked. "Uhmm..." he pressed his lips together, pretending to think. "I won't. Only if you do as I say." I know what he wants. He wants me to stop talking to Aaron. Or end my friendship with him. And I'm gonna agree to it for now. But I'll find a way to erase the footage from the camera. Or after a few days, if Aaron goes and tells the Principal about this, there's less chance that he'd actually bother to check the camera footage, also considering I'm not a student from Mr. Keating's class. Also, Asher will hesitate to report after some days since there arises a question of why he didn't report it when he saw it. "What do you want? You want me to tell Ty that you like him and persuade him to date you?" I asked him. "What!" Asher scoffed, his eyebrows scrunched together tightly. "I don't like Ty that way. He is my friend." "Really?" I asked. "Then why are you so focused on troubling Aaron? And why do you tell Ty horrible lies about Aaron? You are afraid Ty will like him again, right?" Asher bit his lips and looked away, rubbing his chin, as if thinking deeply. Maybe he didn't expect me to figure it out so soon. But it's so obvious, right? Finally, Asher looked back at me. "Okay, maybe I have a small crush on Ty. But I don't want you to help me in that matter. I like Ty but I'm not planning to confess to him or anything. I just don't want him to end up with someone like Aaron." "I see. So it's just a fun thing for you! Asshole!" I sneered feeling angry. This bitch is having a lot of fun with Ty and Aaron. "You shouldn't forget what situation you are in right now, Caroline. I suggest you better shut up and drop that attitude," he said taking a step forward and placing his hands on the wall behind me. Now there was barely an inch's distance between us.I looked down and sighed in an attempt to control myself. "Okay, tell me what you want me to do." "You will do anything?" he asked staring into my eyes. I felt scared. What is he going to ask me? I haven't even had my first kiss yet. "Don't worry. I'm not going to ask you that. I already said I'd rather kiss a toad," he chuckled again, his lips almost brushing my nose. Then he took a step back and stared into my eyes. "I would only ask you this simple thing. Just stop hanging out with Aaron." Phew..! I pretended as if thinking for a few seconds. "Okay," then I nodded. He scrunched his eyebrows and looked at me confused. "Okay??" "Yeah..okay. And I don't actually hang out with him. I just met him last day and I don't really know him. So it's perfectly okay for me. At least it's better than getting a suspension." "So, you aren't that dumb like I thought. Good decision," Asher said tucking his hands in his pocket. How dare you call me dumb? Do you even know who I am? "And not only that.." he continued, "tomorrow you should come to school at 6:30 along with Ty." "Why?" I raised an eyebrow. He came closer to me again. "You are gonna do a little bit of exercise and pushups tomorrow. I hope you know to do pushups. Just a small punishment for what you did right now. You know Caroline, it's wrong to cheat, right? You must study hard and score good marks, instead of trying to do bad things like this, like a bad girl. You understood?" he raised an eyebrow. I didn't say anything. He patted my shoulder and smiled. "So Caroline Ann Turner, see you tomorrow at 6:30," then he turned the balls of his feet, steadily walking away.
I sat staring at my laptop screen, trying to make a decision about whether to hack our school CCTV camera or not. For that, I need to first hack into the school website and find the IP address of the operating system linked to CCTV. It's a bit difficult task and if I get caught, I will get suspended from school, or worse I will get arrested for cyber offense. Do I need to take such a risky move just to erase the silly footage of me correcting Ty's answer sheet code? It's just a code and I won't get anything more than detention if they find out. And if Asher doesn't tell anyone, nobody is gonna know. Nevertheless, I already agreed to his deal. My heart skipped a beat as suddenly my room door clicked open. But then I realized I was just staring at my desktop and I didn't have any of my coding files open. Leaving an inaudible sigh, I turned around to see Ty frowning at me, walking inside. "What were you doing?" he then asked going to my bed and slumping down. "Nothing. Just thin
"So how was the birthday party? When did you return?" I asked Ty as I drove the both of us to school the next morning. "It was great. Corey didn't really expect it. But we returned soon after cutting the cake since we have practice today," he replied. "Oh..why couldn't that jer..I mean Asher just cancel today's practice? He is the captain, right?" I asked. If he canceled practice, I also didn't have to go to school now. "We have an important match coming next week. We need to practice hard," Ty replied. "Oh.." I hummed. The ride was silent for the next few minutes. Ty had his eyes closed and his head leaned against the window. Seems like he didn't get enough sleep yesterday. But suddenly he sat up straight and asked me something. "Carrie, Aaron is really changing school?" I was almost taken aback. So he actually cares about Aaron, although he wouldn't admit it. "Why? You said it's good," I said. "Er..but.It's.." Ty stammered looking out of the window while I chuckled
"Asher...why are you forcing her to run? Let her rest. She isn't used to jogging for long. She barely does any exercise," Ty said and Asher finally left my hands free while a smirk formed on his face. I know he's planning something inside that stupid head of his. Before I even started guessing what he is about to do, he turned to face Ty. "You know Ty, yesterday evening I was walking through the upper block corridor. Then, when I reached Mr. Keating's Biology classroom, Caroline was... "Hey! Let's go run," I shrieked cutting Asher off. "When you reached Mr. Keating's classroom, Caroline was...? what happened?" Ty asked confused, his frown now directed towards me. "N..nothing happened. Let's run!" I panted out and grabbed Ty's hands. Then I started dragging him along with me, running away as far as possible from Asher while I was feeling totally nauseous. "What happened? Did you do something wrong?" Ty asked me. "N..no..nothing. I- I was just..er..I just thought to...uhm..po
I reached the locker room to find Aaron sipping on his rose milk whilst leaning against his locker door. He had his earphones plugged in and was probably listening to one of his favorite songs that he realized my presence only after I went really closer to him."Hey!" he responded smiling, taking the buds from his ears on seeing me."Hey, you have good news," I smiled back."What?""Tyler Martin agreed to talk to you.""Really?" he asked, a surprised expression replacing his smile. "Yeah.." I nodded. "You know how?""No, how? What did you do?" He asked anxiously. Then I told him the whole thing that led to Ty agreeing to talk to him."You kind of emotionally blackmailed him," Aaron chuckled. My plan seemed to appeal to him a lot. "So he actually cares for me a little," he mumbled smiling, but I still heard it."So, when am I talking to him? I need to pretend like I'm going to change school, right?" he asked enthusiastically."Yeah..exactly! I'll ask him and tell you when you can meet.
Last hour I had Geography. I and Aaron sat together in the back row. Aaron was really anxious and restless the whole hour because he was finally going to talk to Ty after class. Ty had asked me to tell him to meet him at the basketball court in the evening. They didn't have practice today. As soon as the bell rang, Aaron got up from his seat and rushed out of the class after I wished him good luck. I didn't yet confirm him whether I was going to his house or not. Cause I didn't tell Ty about it yet and to admit honestly, I'm a bit afraid to tell him and I'm even more scared to go without his approval.I'm sure he won't let me go. He wasn't even ready to meet with Aaron at the canteen like I suggested. He said the basketball court was enough and he wasn't going to listen to Aaron for more than five minutes. But I really hope this meeting will go well and this would finally wipe away all the misunderstanding.I sighed whilst grabbing my books and stuff and throwing them into my bag. The
It was almost 9 PM when Aaron dropped me back at home. After he drove away, I walked to our front door, slowly pushing it open.Ty's Dad and Mom were in the living room, watching a movie with all the lights off. I greeted them lowly and then quickly made my way upstairs in the dim light from the TV. Thankfully they didn’t ask me anything as they were engrossed in the movie. And I had already called aunt before we started from Aaron's house.I had had dinner from Aaron's home along with his parents. Both of them were really nice to me. Aaron actually told them that I'm his partner in Chemistry lab assignment and I came to work on it.He told me, his parents don't like the idea of him playing video games and if they happen to know he is making a video game along with me, not only do they not allow him to do it, but also an earthquake would happen inside his house. In three hours, I and Aaron discussed the theme, plot and setting of our video game and I showed him the model I was already
"Are you really going to school? Or are you going to Aaron's house to work on the video game?" Tyler asked standing at my doors while I was brushing my hair down frustratedly. It's only a few minutes ago at the breakfast table, I told him and his parents, I'm going to school to let myself be tutored by the school's smartest and most amazing senior. So, I just kept silent and continued brushing my tangled hair."I see you are wearing a frock today. You usually wear jeans.."That was enough to break my control. What does he think? I am going to go seduce Aaron, with my naked legs?"If you don't believe me, then freaking call that mother fucking pale face and ask him itself. That jerk is your goddamn best friend, right?" I turned and hissed at him. I don't know why the hell I'm this much angry today. Ty's mouth almost dropped open seeing my furious state."I'm sure you're going to Asher," he muttered nodding his head. "But it's gonna be okay, Carrie. He really teaches well. You'll...""Ju
"Hey...what's wrong with you ?"Ty's Mom asked, frowning at him as we were having dinner together. He was keeping on cutting a piece of meat with his fork and was not actually eating anything."Nothing.." he shrugged and lifted a piece to his mouth."Something's not right. I noticed yesterday also. Carrie, do you know what's wrong with him?" Aunt asked turning to me."I don't know," I shrugged. "Ty, do you have any problem?" I asked. I don't really know what’s wrong. But I can feel he is really disturbed since he came back from school after his basketball practice. I guess something happened during the practice. I asked him what happened but he didn't say anything. And, soon after tea, I left for Aaron's house. Aaron actually picked me up and he only dropped me back half an hour ago.Apparently, I called Aaron when I reached back home after the horrific tutoring section with Asher. He was about to go for his football practice then. He said his headache was gone and he will pick me up a
