Nikamura's death

Nikamura fixed her gloves one last time as she checked to see if her gear was set for the night. For too long, she had awaited this moment where she would get the kingpins of the underworld together and eliminate them all at once.

She was the current most dreadful female in the entire underworld of Japan, and everyone believed she had control over the deadliest assassins.

Well, Nikamura was her very own assassin. There was only one person who knew about her and the assassin being one, and that was an old man, Zayne.

Zayne had been working for her late father before he extended his services to the daughter of the man, who had been nothing short of nice to him. He had seen her morph into this powerful yet remarkable woman and had pledged his loyalty to her just as he once did to her father.

Her tablet started to beep, and he brought it over to her, looking grim and solemn.

Nikamura took a look at the tablet and took notice of the coordinates the anonymous link had been sending to her. Whoever this person was should be a genius.

For the past four months, he has always provided her with intel on where to find her opponents. She had no idea who he was, and for some reason, Zayne had his wariness drawn.

"I don't trust this person. I hate the fact that someone out there is sending your intel," he would constantly say.

"So long as he doesn't know who I am exactly and keeps giving the right information, then there's nothing to be worried about," she would always say.

Three updates this anonymous person had given her had been correct; anonymous person they were basically expendable persons. More like underdogs for the underworld that were receiving goods or working on something. The anonymous person had promised that he would assist her in gathering up the leaders.

Tonight was that night. The coordinates he sent belonged to an old Japanese inn on the outskirts of the town. Just what is expected of them. They had to choose places like this for their meetups.

"I'm ready," she said to him as she put in her ear plug to communicate with Zayne.

"Good luck, leader," he said to her with a boy.

Nikamura climbed up the window of her operating room and was soon lost in the darkness.

The night was cold and rather quiet. Perfect night for a smooth operation. It was through the rooftops for her as she jumped from one place to another. She found herself advancing and swinging through with her high-tech equipment.

Eventually, she could tell that she was getting closer, and the more she advanced, the more dangerous she was feeling. Soon, they will feel her wrath as she puts an end to their endless plotting.

A couple of scaling roofs, and she arrived at the inn location. She mounted herself on a tree branch as she scanned the facility for any signs of opposition. She had to make certain not to raise an alarm until her mission was done.

Looking around, the compound itself was so quiet that she let herself down and hurriedly went to scan the entrance with her back to the wall.

Strangely, the entrance was rather empty, but she had reasons to believe they just might have an underground facility inside that she would find. Possibly, a trap door would lead her to where they were meeting.

She tried the door and entered stealthily, but still, there was not one sign of a person.

Oh, perhaps this was why she had not been able to find them all along. She would always know from guards stationed at strategic points that the place was her mark, but these ones were clever enough to hide their guards.

Nikamura started to open doors to rooms in what was drastically becoming an abandoned inn, but not a single soul emerged, and she was beginning to feel frustration wipe through her.

She recalled having read the coordinates accurately, but now they were empty.

Up ahead of the hall was a twin door that seemed to be her last hope. Nikamura braced herself to attack, but as she kicked the door open, it was empty, save for a device beeping on the table. There was a note to the side, which she picked up.

It read, 'GOT YA! '

At this instant, she realized what it was.

"There's no one here," she muttered.

"Nikamura, get out of there. It's a trap. There's someone advancing where you are!" The voice of Zayne called out, but it was too late.

She had turned when an object sailing through the air struck her on the stomach. Nikamura looked down to find the assassin's star weapon in her stomach, and when she looked up, she saw him approaching her with his sword drawn.

That instant, she started to run towards the window and jumped. He broke his way through as he was hot in pursuit.

She realized that as she was running, she seemed to be growing weaker. The assassin had played dirty, and she was now left with figuring out a way out.

She halted, enough for him to draw close when she threw down her last object of defense. The blue smoke from the mist was strong, providing her with enough time to jump the tree and to the nearest rooftop.

By the time the smoke cleared, she was gone, but the assassin did not bother looking. She was going to die, as she had no idea what had happened to her.

Nikamura started to manage her way back and kept getting weaker. By the time she arrived at the window from whence she had left, she was half dragging herself. She got her legs in, but was too weak to come down.

"Zayne... Zayne..." She called him weakly.

"Miss!" He called out as he rushed to grab her.

As he noticed she could no longer move, he carried her to the bed and searched for where she had been wounded. He could see the star weapon buried deep, but she was struggling to breathe. That's when he took off her mask and was alarmed at how pale she looked.

He tore open the cloth around the stomach and noticed the bluish veins around the wound and how the deadly color was spreading quickly.

She had been poisoned.

Quickly, he grabbed a towel and then slowly pulled it out. She was even too weak to scream out. He placed the towel over the wound and put the weapon in the separating machine that would separate the poison and process what it was exactly, so he administered an antidote.

Suddenly, he looked behind him and saw her struggling to breathe. Her eyes were totally whitened, and he panicked.

He ran over to her.

"Miss...miss! Stay with me! Miss!!!" He was crying out as he kept tapping against her cheeks, but she kept breathing hard until suddenly...

She went out cold and still.

He placed a finger against her nose and wailed.

Nikamura had finally been relieved of her pain and found herself in a floating darkness, full of starlight.

At last, she might have rested from all her troubles.
