Chapter 9 Truly Gone Crazy

Magic Cube was a popular club in Elysium, a paradise for the wealthy. Talking to a random guy here could mean talking to a prominent figure of Elysium.

It was Josephine’s first time there, and her simple attire looked incredibly out of place in the crowd.

Several people were in the private room, including Avery.

She was sitting in a nonchalant position with both hands behind her head. She looked more relaxed than some of the men there.

"Tyler, did you call me here just to let Mr. Alvarez interrogate me?" Avery asked, glancing at Lewis and Sierra, who were sitting beside him.

Lewis leaned expressionlessly on the sofa with his legs crossed. The dim light was only shining on his chest, leaving his face in the shadows and making him look mysterious.

Tyler Green furrowed his brows and spoke softly, “Just apologize to Miss Woods and this will all be over, okay?”

“Who is she to ask for my apology?” Avery scoffed.

“Avery, stop messing around!”

It was really brave of Avery to even touch Sierra. Everyone knew that Sierra was Lewis’ beloved darling.

"I'm not messing around. I hit her because I don’t like her. So what? Hey, bro, you drink chicken soup all the time, but I don't see you apologizing to the chickens."

As soon as she said this, Sierra's face changed drastically. She stood up abruptly but fell back down because of the pain in her ankle.

“Watch your mouth! When I was dating Lewis, he wasn’t even married to that mute woman yet!”

Avery glanced at her and sat upright with a grin. "Well then, they've been living together for more than ten years. Where were you during that time?"

“How is that the same? She’s just an orphan. The Alvarez family took pity on her and let her…”

Bang!

Before Sierra could finish her sentence, the glass in Lewis’ hand fell on the table, and because of the strong impact, shattered into pieces. The spilled alcohol spread across the table.

Lewis leaned forward, exposing his cold face under the light. His face was so grim that it was almost frightening. He then turned to glare at Avery. “Apologize.”

Avery raised an eyebrow and uttered casually, “I won’t.”

“Is it necessary to be so angry, Lewis? We’ve all been friends for so long,” Fred added sheepishly. He wanted to but didn’t dare to say that it wasn’t worth it for a woman.

Lewis glanced at him, and Fred awkwardly shut his mouth, retreating to his own corner.

Tyler furrowed his brows and sighed, saying, "Let me apologize on her behalf. You know her personality very well. Making her apologize is harder than killing her."

Lewis grabbed a few tissues and leaned back into the shadows again. As he casually wiped his fingers, he spoke slowly, "You want to apologize for her? Alright then, drink up all the alcohol on this table."

Tyler was somewhat stunned. There were more than 20 bottles of alcohol on the table.

Sierra, who was sitting on the side, couldn't intervene at all. She just wanted to embarrass Avery, but Lewis started picking on Tyler instead, which made her wonder whether he was standing up for her or just venting his own frustration.

After a moment of silence, Tyler nodded and said, "Okay."

Avery instantly shot up from her seat and exclaimed, "Tyler, are you crazy? Why should we apologize to this woman? Is she even worthy of it?"

"Shut up!" Her brother glared at her, signaling her to stop causing trouble. He picked up a bottle of alcohol from the table.

Avery rushed forward, snatched the bottle from him, and smashed it onto the ground. The bottle was shattered into shards with a deafening sound.

"What are you drinking for? I'm the one who hit her. What does it have to do with you? If you have the guts, come at me. I want to see how capable you are, Lewis Alvarez. Kill me today if you can!"

As soon as her voice fell, a few big and muscular bodyguards rushed into the room, blocking the entrance.

Tyler’s expression changed. He was about to speak when Avery grabbed his wrist.

Looking at Lewis, she said, "You're quite impressive, Mr. Alvarez. You ignore your own wife but treasure a woman like this. I really despise you."

Lewis watched her calmly without uttering a word.

"Lewis, have you gone mad?" Tyler wanted to say something, but he didn't know what to say.

It seemed that he loved this woman so much that he would rather risk giving up their friendship that had been going strong for so many years.

He had truly gone crazy.

Avery also knew that Lewis was being serious this time. She looked at her brother's troubled face and knew that he didn't want to be at odds with his good friend, but he also didn't want her to suffer. In the end, he would be the one to suffer the most.

She couldn't possibly win against these well-trained bodyguards.

Avery clenched her fists and took a deep breath before bending down to pick up a bottle.

"Okay, if it's an apology you want, there's no need for Mr. Alvarez to get it out of me himself. Since I slapped her, I'll pay her back twice as much so that Miss Woods can make her anger disappear."

With that, she grabbed the bottle and smashed it on her own head.
