“Oh, hell, no,” Megan blurted. “You can’t possibly be choosing the pain he just described over a few rounds of sex in the bedroom.”

“That’s exactly what I’m choosing,” I said as I busied myself cleaning up after our dinner. “It’s late.  Why don’t you go to bed?  I’ll take care of cleaning up.”

“Why?”  she demanded as she stood in front of me with her hands on her hips while blocking my way.

“You know why,” I said, firmly.
